Poldark!

PBS Costume Drama PSA:

The Poldark remake starts airing tonight! I was looking forward to it back when Downton Abbey ended then forgot about it. My paper reminded me of it this morning and says that it is better than the first. I remember wanting to marry Ross Poldark as a child.

I thought the actor playing Ross and the female lead were both so good looking. Funny, I barely recall the plot.

I liked the old version, but I prefer this one over all.

And if you liked Robin Elis–and who didn’t–wait til you take a gander at Aidan Turner. Hubba hubba! I preferred Angharad Rees as Demelza, but this one is fine…

Ooh, thanks for the heads up. I have been looking forward to it starting but forgot it was today. DVD now set.

Loved the first one and am looking forward to this!

And people wonder how a child can even know their orientation :stuck_out_tongue:

My husband was watching this while we were in the hotel because there were nothing else to watch.

I enjoyed it but…H and I decided that next week----everytime someone broods while standing on a cliff, we will take a shot of tequila. We should be at least 3 sheets to the wind after 15 minutes.

Good idea, musica! But maybe we need to record it and watch it on Friday nights. I don’t think I could drink that many shots and get up for work on Monday morning!

I watched this season already on simply june. Great show. I am now looking forward to seeing the older show while I wait for season 2.

Haven’t had a chance to watch epi 1 yet…

And heads up for anyone interested - Last Tango starts next Sunday night

I had forgotten that I read this whole series back in the day. Lots more brooding tin mining in the books.

Robin Ellis has a small part in this one! It’s sad that Rees died. I remember a lot of the old series very vividly. It inspired us to visit Cornwall, which is incredibly beautiful.

OMG!!! Robin who? I never thought another Poldark could be as good, but oh my! The remake does not disappoint.

No it certainly doesn’t!

It’s good TV.

It’s no Outlander but it’s very good.

I just watched my second episode on Sunday. How much have I missed? He certainly isnt difficult to watch…

Demelza would agree with you! Her spying on him while he swam was funny.

I decided to read the books, and am halfway through the first one. Demelza is 13 years old, looked a bit older on the TV version. Or maybe I just looked young at 13. Anyway, the first book is no Outlander either, I’m trying to decide whether to buy the next one on Kindle.
