I saw the original series while living in England, but I’ve never read the books. I picked one up once, but was not enthralled.
Darn! I missed this. Thanks for the heads up! Dod she say 007?
DH and I liked the first episode of the season. Intense!
Anyone want to share those alternative sites? thanks!
@mamom, I’ll PM you.
Just watched episode 4 (last night’s). How could I have despised Francis so much in season 1 and like him so much this year?
^^ I know. Wasn’t expecting that. ANY of it.
That was a well done episode. I’ve watched up to #8 on SJ and I like the last few more than the first ones (which differ from the books in that Demelza is depicted as less resourceful and effective).
^ @greenwitch - I’m up to episode #8 as well and am really enjoying this season. All I can say is, it’s going to get even better…
And for those who like historical drama, Victoria is worth watching as well. I enjoyed it and it has been renewed for Season 2!
I’m a little mad at Ross right now.
I was so impressed at how they actually got little kids who looked like the grownup Ross and Francis for that flashback scene.
(And, good Lord, is the actor who plays Ross swoon-worthy or what?)
Look up Poldark Dish on YouTube. It’s two American women who call themselves the Cornwall Cougars and they do recaps of each episode. They are hilarious! They are always swooning over Ross and also over “Dr. Eye Candy”.
^^ That’s hysterical, @greenwitch!
@greenwitch - Thanks for the Poldark Dish…awesome stuff.
What network is “Victoria” on? @SyrAlum
My understanding is that “Victoria” comes to PBS in January in our “Downton Abbey” timeslot. I’m really looking forward to it and to “The Crown” on Netflix next month.
^^^^^^^^^^ as I am!
Pol dark Dish is so funny. I watched a few episodes, fun.
They are going to have cameos in an episode next season. How great is that?
What cougaring can do for you…
If Demelza and Ross had a baby boy two episodes ago, why did he not make an appearance in this past Sunday’s show? Did I miss something??
