<p>I don’t like GGM all that much. I’ve only read Chronicle of a Death Foretold and while it wasn’t a bad book, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone either.</p>

<p>Well, by my statement I meant that if someone is prone to confusing books clearly marked “FICTION” with reality, then they have a whole other subset of problems unrelated to the book.</p>
<p>Just read it. Trust your instincts - your eye was drawn to that tome’s seductive binding for a good reason.</p>

<p>^^I saw the movie Like Water For Chocolate forever ago on TV, before I knew it was a book, and I loved it.
As far as GGM goes, I’ve only read Memories of My Melancholy Whores and I didn’t like it. I think I hit on the wrong first book sometimes with authors, like, I hated Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go, but with the number of first books I’ve hated recently, I think it’s just that I don’t like most contemporary literature.
So, no Gabriel Garcia. However, Gael Garcia (Bernal) I adore.</p>
