Prime Day

A lot of the “early” prime stuff seems to be their way of pushing their versions of the other/similar products. We are google product users so none of the alexa or echo stuff is of any interest.

Remember, it is 3PM Eastern time. So it would be earlier further west.

^^I think this is their early bird stuff for Prime/Amazon users - there will be plenty of other brands come 3pm EST.

Yes it appears that the complete prime day hits later today, but they are pushing their products now. Kind of a turnoff to me.

I don’t mind it - easy to just ignore the page until later in the day. Any “brand” would do the same - promote their own. It’s the consumers job to tune in or walk away.

They purposely discontinued carrying some of the direct competition on amazon. While its a business decision, its a turnoff to me.

I may have to buy a new tv— if I don’t turn it off I may throw something at it.

I put a bunch of things on watch and several of them were canceled. That’s disappointing.

I’m looking for two types of things: travel and house organization.

I need stuff to help with my upcoming trip to australia like space saver bags and a travel pillow.

We’re also starting to baby ready the house. We have a lot of clutter that needs to go and even more that needs to just be organized. I’d rather do that stuff now than when i’m pregnant.

“Not that you asked my opinion , but you might want to make sure your daughter’s roommate is okay with a Dot in the room. My kids wouldn’t be.”

Nice to know we’re not the only tinfoil hat wearing Luddites. All of my family (and I’m the least tech savvy of all of them - they’re total geeks) would not want to be in a dorm room with any of the electronic assistant type things.

I won’t let the constant-listening things into my house. Laptops and phones are bad enough.

@romanigypsyeyes - no need for special space saver bags for packing. Just buy the jumbo ziploc bags https://www.target.com/p/hefty-jumbo-2-5-gallon-slider-storage-bag-12ct/-/A-14090417?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&CPNG=PLA_Grocery+Essentials+Shopping&adgroup=SC_Grocery&LID=700000001170770pgs&network=g&device=t&location=9010794&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIktjx74Sk3AIVg2x-Ch0MJg-yEAQYByABEgJrYPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds. and sit on them (or otherwise get the air out) as you slowly zip them closed. We’ve used these for packing and DS/DH did this when backpacking. Works great, until something makes the bag no longer hold a vacuum seal, but that seems to happen to all these types of bags eventually.

That’s weird about your watch list stuff @romanigypsyeyes - it hadn’t even gone on sale yet???

Nope. It says “sorry, this deal was canceled: (object)”. Just got another one.

I just bought a two pack MAZ-TEK LED night light with brightness adjustment and light sensor for only $6.50 using promo UI7JZH6Z. Figured it’ll help my kid when navigating the room at night without disturbing her roommate.

Another interesting article popped up in my feed https://www.forbes.com/sites/janetwburns/2018/07/15/amazon-boycott-unites-workers-gamers-shoppers-for-prime-day-protest/

I am a regular amazon user—I just don’t like their refusing to sell some competitors’ items. Plenty of stores (and I consider amazon a store) sell both their products and their competitors products. Price and quality should help the consumer decide.

@milee30 I proudly wear my tinfoil hat on that issue and recent stories give credence to my opinion.

Target is having one day only on-line sale tomorrow. They have some google home stuff on sale now.

Welp, the website has crashed. At least for me

The instant pot is $58.99
