Prime Day

Well, the echo that I ordered was supposed to be delivered yesterday by 8pm. Now it is scheduled for July 19th. Is anyone going to complain to Amazon about paying the cost of prime and not getting deliveries as promised? This is not the first time this year that deliveries have not arrived as scheduled.

  • sometimes more than that, according to the article.

Yup- have gotten membership extensions several times

Two items are not going to make the guarantee. Got a month extension and a $5 credit. Thank you, Amazon.

^^ Did you do this through online customer service (chat) or on the phone?

Astounding ordered a new knapsack yesterday and arrived today - wow

Three of my four purchases just arrived by Amazon delivery; fourth is coming via USPS.

Thanks for the advice to contact Amazon Chat. Just received 1 month prime extension and a $5.00 credit. In the survey, I wrote that it was very appropriate and good business to take care of their Prime members as there is growing competition for their customers.

We had a wine delivery scheduled for tomorrow, not from Amazon, for which we had rearranged our schedules so someone would be here to sign for it. Arrived today! UPS driver said they are pushing everything through faster because of Amazon Prime.

I need to rant about a shovel I ordered… which for some obscure reason would not be delivered without a person present in the house. Heck no I am not going to the UPS hub to pick it up! That’s not what Prime members do. B-) Prine members get their $2,000 TVs left on the front porch. I am not even talking about a $40 shovel. Hrrrmmmmph.

Weird about a shovel delivery!
One of my orders split - one is coming today and the other part is coming next Weds. a second order is coming tomorrow.

Now I’m annoyed…those of you getting your orders so quickly. Mine is coming until “by 8pm Friday night.” I live in a metropolitan area with an Amazon warehouse 30 miles away. Not like I ordered anything weird-I got a paperback book and a Kindle Paperwhite. I may have to call and complain…not like I need the stuff right away, but isn’t part of the point of being a Prime member to get quick/2 day shipping?

Edited to add that I just noticed they are using USPS to ship my stuff which means I’ll be lucky if I even get it. USPS is notorious in my area for losing packages or taking a week to 10 days for delivery. Lovely.

^ so reach out after the late delivery and get the credit/free Prime month @4kids4us

Yup that’s what I’m doing too.
Not that I’m actually annoyed but because I am a little bitter at the recent Prime price jumps and Amazon isn’t going to miss my few free months.

Updating my comment above…I just called to complain about the delayed shipping so they extended my prime membership by a month. I normally wouldn’t care but usually it tells you at the time of order the delivery date and with mine, it said two day shipping for the items. The book was coming from a different seller so rather than ship separately they delayed my order a day. Fine, but I should’ve been made aware of that at time of order. As it is, I’m going out of town tomorrow night so that Kindle better be here before I leave. USPS, unlike UPS, will not walk up my front steps to drop off a package. Instead they leave in obscure places - I actually had to move a wheelbarrow out of my driveway after twice they left my packages in the wheelbarrow and I never saw them, the first time, it sat out there in the rain.

Target order delayed (not that it’s hurting me too much but waiting for a package that ain’t coming is a pain).
Got 5 dollar refund for the delay.
Spent over 100 bucks on Tues so got free shipping for 6 months (they have a shipping program similar to Amazon).

Update on my Amazon prime order. The order was placed on Monday, supposed to be 1 day delivery with arrival on Tues. Tracking showed “transferred to carrier” on Tuesday and then nothing further. Called Amazon, they extended Prime membership by 1 month and a $5 credit with a promise order would be received by 8pm last night. No delivery yesterday, contacted Amazon again, asked them to replace item which they did and told me item would be recieved by 9pm tonight, (Fri). As of this morning, new order tracking shows “item ordered”, not shipped yet! Found out that they send item from Orlando to the carrier Lasership, which I believe is the “kiss of death”. Will see when item actually arrives. Got an email survey from Amazon and told them they really need to up their customer service and delivery to keep the prime members. After an increase in prime cost and the competition from other companies to deliver without membership fees, they are going to lose business.

I’ve for the most part had good luck with the two day shipping from Amazon. All my prime orders have arrived. 2 of the items arrived in just one day and the other two in two days. I agree with others the kiss of delivery death in my area is when UPS hands off to the post office for delivery. I’m proud of myself that I only ordered to Prime day specials both items that we needed.

Got the Bose headphones delivered to the front porch. The $40 shovel is MIA. UPS here stinks. USPS and FedEx do a better job.
