Princeton Class of 2028 Official Thread

Be wary of those groups, as they are often set up by phishing parties. There is a single Princeton Parent group that is an incredible resource but you can only join once your student is matriculated and receives their ID.

Oh, that might be the t shirt company that starts that
they had one for 2027 as well
I would stay away from that :grinning:

Agreed. Unfortunately you can’t join that group until the student is matriculated.

We were able to join the group last year after acceptance. It was very valuable as we had a lot of questions about move in day and other events for freshmen. That’s the only group you need to join  “Princeton Parents”

I was waitlisted, can you talk more about the waitlist process?

Send a LOCI and most recent grades. Are you in trimesters?

Rejected for engineering. We fully expected this outcome so my son is fine with it. One final decision from Stanford tomorrow (rej., of course), and we’re finally done with this phase of his life.

Isn’t their aid only need based though?

I’m sorry parent in Georgia but how did your daughter get off the waitlist last year if Princeton accepted 0 students off the waitlist for the class of 2027?

There were definitely people accepted off the waitlist last year. One of my friends was waitlisted for CS but was taken off in early June.

Did your financial aid letter from Princeton have your name on it? The admissions letter had my name on it, but the financial aid letter in the portal says “Hello null” so I am wondering if there was some technical issue with the letters. Also does your financial aid offer says it is tentative until the FAFSA is submitted? My FAFSA was processed but it says that Princeton won’t mark as complete until mid-April so when does the financial aid offer become “official”? Since they already have the tax returns, etc. I can’t imagine the FAFSA would change anything.

DS said it was addressed to him. Maybe it’s a system glitch in your case?

it has my daughter’s first name, also it is accessed through her portal. not sure what happened in your case?

My son’s financial aid letter is also addressed as “Hello null”, so there may be a technical issue with some letters. Not sure what the issue is. Our letter also says that the financial aid offer is tentative due to the missing FAFSA. We received the acceptance package with the official letter of admission yesterday in the mail, but it does not include the financial aid letter. I think the financial aid letter is only available online, which we accessed through the admissions portal.

Thanks for the responses. I think the “Hello null” must be a glitch in the financial aid portal greeting for some people – I noticed today that in financial aid portal there is a link to the NJ required College Finance Plan, and that actually has the same financial aid offer with my name so that was reassuring.
