Princeton Class of 2028 Official Thread

just wanted to see if princeton accepted any student without an interview?

I have heard of a case when they admitted a student without an interview. But then, this might be just a legend. I don’t know if they interview all applicants or all those who got admitted were interviewed. Not even sure if it’s worth guessing a decision before the decisions are out. Stranger things have happened, for sure. All the very best!

It’s really not a sign of anything, other than that they couldn’t find an interviewer until now or the interviewer was late making contact.

Thank you, she did that. They encouraged her to be patient and the interviewer did reach out but hasn’t confirmed a date so I don’t think it will happen. Has really stressed my daughter who really wanted it and is completely flexible with timing, but have to let the cards fall where they may and let the path unfold.

Absolutely no tea leaves to be read into getting an interview, not getting an interview, or be assigned one late in the game. Breathe and remain confident in your application and the work you’ve put into your education.

Or a system glitch for what it is dearth. Vader.

Let’s be kind to each other here.

Thank you!

I was only trying to be helpful as I read this kind of answer in 2021 when my D21 was applying to colleges. One student got Yale interview pretty late in the cycle and someone told her that she would likely get in because of the timing and she really got in. So I thought it might be the case for Princeton too. When everyone is so stressed in February as we have another month to know the decision, I think any little piece of information that can make you feel comfortable is important to be conveyed.

Has Princeton sent out their annual likely letter? Heard Cornell and Yale have already.

Are likely letters received by mail, email, or on portal?

You said it as if you knew this was the case with Princeton, though, and it’s not. I understand everyone wants to read the tea leaves, but there really is nothing to read, and no comfort to be had at this stage.

Thanks. I didn’t know if Princeton sends them out like other Ivy schools. Yes I knew about Yale and Cornell but not about Princeton

I believe Princeton does send them out, but the chances of getting one just are crazy

The Ivy League universities have an agreement among them that between Oct 1 and March 15 any admissions office may review a completed application and send likely letters. As a member of the league, Princeton does as the others and sends likely letters to some recruited athletes.

No where in the text I said that this was the case with Princeton. I am sorry if it gave that impression.

It’s ok, but we’re in a Princeton-specific thread so anything you say is presumed to be about Princeton unless you specify otherwise.

Yes many are. The interview is optional.

Do not read into the interview. When and if you get it is entirely dependent on alumni availability, when they respond, when they are assigned. It is a chance for you to learn about Princeton. But it is optional. Your application, recommendations etc is what is most important.
