Mine still shows downloaded october 29th as domestic student, hope that isnt a bad sign?

Mine says Nov 2nd and I received a grade request (obviously not guaranteed admission or anything), so probably not a bad sign. I don’t see why they would re-download

I’m guessing for final review purpose? Because in common apps once any college have downloaded it once, the counselor will not my able to modify anything unless they choose to upload an optional report. That’s why I felt it might indicate a good sign.

Does Princeton have a high defer over rejection rate? Are they a Harvard (defer everyone) or a Stanford (selective defer)?

any insights?

D25’s counsellor notified her on Friday. It sounds that they responded to Princeton on Friday and received the request sometime before then.

Can you see either in Princeton Admission Portal or in Common App that the Q1 report has been sent/downloaded? My counselor seems to be very unwilling to disclose information on who he got the q1 request for. I thought may be Common App or Princeton Admission Portal will give a clue.

S25 got accepted at GA Tech for CS. He’s very excited and happy. And so are we
His counselor did not get the Q1 report request from Princeton.
Good luck to all on Thursday.

When will Princeton decision come out?

I believe on the 12th @ 7 PM. They will send an email a few days prior to that.
Hoping for the best :crossed_fingers:
Good luck all!

Thanks :+1:

I’ve stopped worrying about the Q1 request thing; it is what it is. I do have a question, though.

What’s the point in requesting this sort of stuff from only half of the REA admits? What do you gain? There are some special cases, yes, where course rigor is dramatically increased in senior year or if you have an upward trend, but I doubt that’s half the REA admit pool.

People online say it is to ensure that you haven’t “contracted” senioritis, which I doubt any Princeton admits would have. If that were the case, why not request it from everyone?

People are saying it’s done to fight for you in committee, but I doubt having good grades, the bare minimum, gets you far. With this logic, people who don’t get the grades requested are not in committee and are rejected or consensus admits.

I am just trying to understand here. I don’t really care for it anymore, but any new information can help benefit my underclassmen friends and siblings.

I am not sure that is correct. Where did the half number come from? I think there are many schools that send trimester or q1 grades automatically. Our school does this for all colleges so there is no need for a request.

Do they send them or upload them to the common app?

The above is coupled with surveys online and on Reddit forums annually over the past few years, including QB. It’s pretty inaccurate if we’re being real, but I’m kind of going off of this due to how big of a question it’s been recently.

The debate over Q1 grades has occurred on Princeton SCEA threads every year. Because of the lack of standardized data, I don’t think we can come to any solid conclusions regarding whether it’s a good sign because most people, especially those not accepted, will not post about their results, leading to skewed data.

Our school uses Scoir to manage applications and everything is sent through that system.

Congrats!

If your counselor used the Common App to send your Q1 grades it would be through the “optional report.” So you could see if it was submitted by the counselor and then “downloaded” by the college. I don’t think Q1 grades appear on the portal.
