My son"s gf was recently on Governor’s Island in NYC, and stumbled across filming of an episode of Project Runway Allstars! Also took a clandestine photo of Seth Aaron on the boat back. She was pretty excited!

This is always fun. D and I just cut out dress to make. It will take me days to figure out side zipper. I don’t like zippers which is why I stopped sewing for girls when it got beyond buttons and smocking! It took us longer to cut out pieces than it takes them to make whole outfit!
I only know one way to put in a zipper and I am so out of practice it would probably take many tries to get it right. And I agree that cutting out the pieces takes too long! LOL
I haven’t sewn in years other than hems and some craft projects, but I used to sew costumes for my kids for Halloween and then for community theater. I can only sew from a pattern. I am not creative at all, but follow instructions well. I so admire the talent of all of the Project Runway folks.
Hooray! One of my favorite shows.
I just found out today that my husband’s cousins (twins) will be competing this season. I’ll be watching as usual.
Every year I say I’ll never watch it again, and every year Tim Gunn sucks me right back in…

I wasn’t impressed by any of the designers on the preview last night. They all seemed like rejects from previous seasons. And what’s with all the men wearing women’s clothes? Ick. I hope the show is going to be better than the preview portends.
What? There was a preview? Totally missed that. Dang.
BRAVO tends to repeat. I’ll be they might show that preview the hour before the premiere next week or even in the days beforehand.

re: DVR settings … do your DVRs allow you to record an entire series? Our DVR does (we have Uverse). For all my favorite shows, I have the series set to record. There are options to only record a “first run” episode (not the reruns), an option to add additional time (15 minutes, an hour, etc.) over the regular episode timeslot (this is handy when you are recording live events like football games that almost always exceed the amount of time).
I watched last night’s preview. I’ve got 4-5 favorites of the bunch so far and 4-5 that I don’t care if they go home first including the twins (what’s gonna happen when the first one of them gets eliminated?) and “butter” guy … anybody who uses Care Bear fabric on FREAKIN’ PROJECT RUNWAY needs to go home!

it’s called gender-bending and it’s a trend…it’s not new…it’s just new to PR…the best part of fashion (from a mom of a fashion designer) is we don’t have to like it…there’s something out there for everyone. I’m reminded of Kathrine Hepburn, and her wearing trousers—before they were considered “feminine” it was not only a fashion statement but a symbol of her stubborn independence. My own grandmother (a model in the 1930s) said “Kate Hepurn was ferociously independent and that made a lot of people very uncomfortable” - fashion is a sign of the times, and gender-bending is absolutely a sign of the times.
Ok, all this aside, I am ready for PR, and I see a few very bright lights among the group that will be competing. No favorites yet…YET!
