I’m not ruling out Kenya or Michael . Amy, the teacher, is always safe but nothing memorable, yet.
My money is on Kenya.
Next to be gone (in my humble prediction) is Margarita, Amy, the twins in a double elimination, and then Michael.
Brandon’s stuff is repetitive: the asymmetrical top, the billowy element, the buckle thingy. I’m bored.
Loved the winning look: fun, creative and original.
Based on the season 16 trailer: Margarita is shown boxing, and Kenya is shown in the “coldest place in NYC.” So they are each around until at least those challenges.
I was hoping to hear some follow up on Zac’s “something fishy” with the twins but next weeks promo looks to be a team challenge and they are together.
^^Yes, me too. I was hoping they would forbid “helping” when it included actual construction. Instead they mostly seem to just thin the twin with ponytail was making a bad decision to use her time helping her sister.
@scmom12 As the twins explained it on the first episode (I hope I’m remembering correctly!) “Claire has hair, Shawn is shaved”.
Regarding who went home: Nina hates her aesthetic. Plenty of times the judges have saved someone based on the work/craftsmanship that went into the garment. The one who went home had so much work and craftsmanship in her garment, but that was ignored. Nina was not going to like anything she made.
I liked the winning dress, but I didn’t LOVE it.
I want something in that plaid flannel! I love pink and gray.
I could see my 19 year old daughter wearing the winning dress. I think the design would look better in a different fabric though.
The ending was WTH?!
Torture for the losing team, but I can understand where the judges are confused. Amy can sew beautifully but her style is old. If I was a shopper,mi love the pink/gray jackets.
Here’s the winning dress on jcp.com. $39.99 on sale.
Pats mm, it is all polyester and looks like a small check. If it was cotton, d take a chance and order it.
How is it already on sale?
And I think they concocted the loser face-off for added drama.
If they send one of the twins home, then who is involved in the “cheating” that was featured in the season preview?
I just re-watched the promo that talks about the cheating scandal - it starts with Michael walking off the runway, upset. Claire (on the runway) responds to the question “what happened” and she says “I have no idea”. The guest judge for the runway is Yolanda Hadid.
But in the subsequent clips, they show a room in which Aaron, Samantha, (and Shawn) are among the group of designers that are all upset, sobbing about whatever is happening. Batani appears to be crying the most. So I don’t know if it’s intentionally misleading editing? Or they bring back eliminated designers in an upcoming episode? Stay tuned . . .
The twins were so obviously p-o’d at the 1 hr challenge they now have to do—lots of eye rolling and fake laughing, plus as before, they really seemed to think they did not deserve to be in the bottom.
But shouldn’t they have known when they picked each other as partners that there was a chance they would lose and one would go home? Next week’s preview looks like a lot of drama, crying, and collapsing into each other’s arms.
re the cheating: Yolanda is the judge next week so I think it will happen then. Margarita was shown in the next episode preview saying she doesn’t like to throw people under the bus. Michael walks off.
Scenes from the whole season preview we haven’t seen yet include Tim on the runway with both twins and Claire saying as mentioned above “I have no idea.” So if that isn’t misleading, perhaps she sticks around and Shawn goes home? They were pretty careful not to show either twin in the workroom scenes for the next challenge so I still think there may be a chance they both decide to leave.
Samantha crying was from her elimination episode, I think, so they definitely mess around with the editing.
It was an interesting episode. I really liked the winning look, and could see it in a short sleeve version. I laughed out loud 2 minutes after the look was announced I went online to JCP and saw “WAS $60 NOW $29.99” how ridiculous to think it’s already been marked down!
The 1 hour twin-off will be amusing to watch.
I’m loving the Kentaro/Brandon bromance. Adorable! I hereby dub them Brantaro. I thought there outfits were the most marketable. The 2 should go into business together and develop a line.
I had to laugh when one of the twins dissed Brantaro’s creations as not being menswear influenced? Like their own poorly designed creations were more so?
As an aside, watching this episode reminded me how much I dislike nose rings. Maybe because I grew up around cattle and that’s what I think of.
