Project Runway - new season

I think Bert is on antidepressants of some sort. The stilt walkers were ridiculous… really digging deep for something new, aren’t they?

Loved Kim Kardashian’s comment that it reminded her of the play clothes from ‘The Sound of Music’ made from drapes. Just before she said that, I went back a bit farther and said it reminded me of Scarlet’s drapery dress in ‘Gone with the Wind’.

Agree Bert is getting on my nerves. He’s coming across like a grumpy old man that can’t play nice.

This week’s episode was pretty boring.

Liked Anya’s jumpsuit tonight (and loved the color, once she dyed it) - but is it true that other designers helped her with the sewing? And was she really glueing the piece together at the last moment? If so, that doesn’t really seem fair…

That said, I loved the snarkiness of the judges last night.

one of the other girls helped her at the end…and Tim even made a comment about glue

I personally haven’t ever been a fan of Bert. I like Anthony Ryan, but he’s the obvious one to root for so I’m not quite sure yet.

I liked the teaser for next week. It looks like they do not ‘play nice’ which always adds to the spiciness. I am not sure any of the designers are remarkable, however. Time will tell.

It seems to me that during the last two weeks, the designer with the most dreadful outfit was spared. I don’t understand the decisions the judges are making.

This episode had lots of choices for worst. The person they picked had been one of the lowest 2 for several weeks. Her time was up?

I think the person who was sent home this week was judged not just on the garment from last night but also on the previous “poor showings.” Because the other bottom-two person had a MUCH worse garment last night, but had been higher ranked in previous weeks.

And the look that won . . . I just don’t get it. That top looked like some Christmas wrapping paper that I have. I thought Viktor’s was the most appropriate for the challenge and for Nina.

I liked Anya’s jumpsuit best and I think that she is well-liked enough that other designers helped her is a testament to her overall strength. That kind of interpersonal aptitude is one more ingredient for professional success in any field. I don’t think it was cheating.

I thought the gold shirt that won was a little bit Jetsons. And the tummy section rolled and was sort of stiff on Nina when she was sitting at her desk in the end. I do think it photographed well for the Taxi’s though.

Enjoyed the episode very much.

I thought the green Christmas tree looking suit was awful. I thought the dress with the lousy hem was awful. I thought a lot of them were awful, actually. Also, the models are very not inspiring… they are slouchy and grim. But, there is all that bickering to look forward to next week! And this week, fun to watch Nina at work, actually… she is tough.

Yes, the Christmas outfit was pretty bad.

I don’t get why the judges think Daniele’s work is nice. (Green shirt black pants.) I really don’t like her stuff, hated the “stilts” outfit and her outfit for Gina had me snoozing. To me everything she does looks boring, middle-aged and something you’d find on a sale rack at Kohl’s.

I couldn’t understand how Nina could fit into an outfit made for a model. I think Nina preferred to wear pants, rather than Victor’s short skirt.

Mising GOOD talent from the bunch; there are so many that could go now.

I’d like to see an evening own dress.

That wasn’t Anya; that was Julie. But Anya did get help with sewing the collar.

There must be something in person that doesn’t come through on TV, because I thought the zipper on Viktor’s dress was awful! A white zipper on a black dress? Should have been invisible or at least black. And it puckered! Nice design, though.

I was sure Anya’s jumpsuit would win because I hated it!

Nina didn’t wear the model’s version; I guarantee that it was fitted and made for her.

I liked the jumpsuit, but didn’t think it was really work to evening…no back at all. Helping Anya is the nice thing to do, but I don’t think it’s particularly fair. At some point no on will have the time to help her, what happens then?

I liked Viktor’s dress the best. The weird zipper just seems to be the “in” thing right now, D has a couple of dresses with that still of zipper. Overall it seemed like the best design.

mom2 i’ve been noticing that type zipper alot lately…i dont like it at all.

parent56 I agree, those zippers are not attractive. I asked D if it was uncomfortable (long zipper on back of a dress), she said no, but she wore a slip although the dress was lined. I guess she actually was listening to those lectures about wearing a slip :-).

I had to share this gem from Tom and Lorenzo:

Nina cares most about her appearance from the bust up. Kimberly’s outfit made Nina look good in those areas, so it was a winner.

I love Project Runway, but am really having trouble getting into this year’s show. I need to see some stronger personalities or some over the top designs.
