Project Runway Season 15!

Did anyone else see this? Way to go!

Mary Kay has always been a company that values teamwork and the Go Give Spirit. As you know, Mary Kay Ash started her business in 1963 with a big dream and $5,000. We were so impressed by how Project Runway designer Alex sacrificed his dreams for the sake of his team last week that we’re presenting him with $5,000 to build his business! Congratulations, Alex! We look forward to watching you channel the Mary Kay spirit in all your work.

I still don’t think he should have gone home. If Natasha wasn’t even in the bottom two in the swimsuit challenge and Alex is sacrificed for the team, then something is rotten in Denmark.

Several of the losing team members said they should be the one to go if their garment was dead the worst. Roberti was the first to say it and i thought he was much braver than Alex as Roberti had been in the bottom a couple of times… The judges had said they liked the silver dress the least, plus he was the team leader, so he was out. I probably would have picked by who had had crappy things in the past, not Alex, but I don’t have a problem with the judges not considering the past and judging just on this one challenge.

Gouf78, if Tim saves someone, it’s on that same show, or at least it has been in the past.

I thought that both teams could have done better. Nothing was very mind blowing.

I hope that the dark skinned (I’m not sure of her nationality) former model stays in the running - I think she has an eye and talent. She has a pretty name but I can’t remember it!

In season 13, Char was eliminated in episode 6. At the beginning of episode 7, Tim announces he has decided to save her after all. So it has happened that the save has been used on a different episode; don’t know if that will be the case here though.

Some of the other designers were not too happy about it:

@abasket - I agree! I think her name is something like Laurents or Laurence

I didn’t hate Erin’s dress as much as the judges did. haha. Agreed with the loser. I thought Laurence’s dress was fabulous.

I was annoyed by all the “you copied that” talk. It was as if no one else had ever sewn trim on fabric to embellish it. The trims and looks were completely different.

I totally thought Laurence would win. She was probably thinking “what do I have to DO to get a win around here?”

The winner was definitely picked for design not execution. I guess they gave her credit for time it took to handsew appliqué because hem was wonky and neck didnt lay quite right. Laurence was perfect.

Another vote for Laurence. I didn’t think it was close. And I was hoping to see a Tim Gunn save at the start of the show but no luck there – guess he likes to save them for later but I did think Alex was worthy of a save.

Yes, Laurence certainly could have won.i think the judges were moved by how hard the tema leader worked, both in his pitch and keeping good morale.

Actually, I was impressed with how both teams worked so well together. I am sorry to see Alex go. I think Tim could be waiting until there are far fewer contestants, and someone good has a bad day.

Laurence won a few weeks ago with the army green jumpsuit. She is consistently good and I thought last night’s black dress was impeccable. Plus she has a cool vibe about her.

@bookworm I think you are one week behind.

Laurence’s dress was pure perfection. Just goes to show his show is rigged. I did not like Erin’s dress at all.

In addition to Laurence’s dress, I thought the leather “apron” dress was fantastic as well. Loved the color.

I have liked Erin, but it was time for her ego to get knocked down a notch or two.

Hate to say it, but I’m glad the producers gave up on trying to protect Tasha. I love her spirit . . . but she should have gone home two challenges ago!

And really, who wants a cocktail dress made out of denim.

Sometimes I have to fault the show - in the case of Tasha, I don’t really know if she had the talent to go too far. BUT, her “girl” - the hip, young, streetwise type chick (is that how she described it??) - isn’t going to be hanging out at that fancy bar/nightclub … There is some confusion I think between the designers staying true to their “girl”, the judges wanting them to, but then the judges knocking them for not designing to fit the challenge and THEIR idea of what a girl should wear at the chosen occasion!!

I too really liked the apron dress but did not care for the back zipper. I like seeing other designers step up their games.
