Thanks @gettingschooled that was very nice of you!
Another test prep company with a theory on how to calculate.
@MichiganGeorgia I’m just reporting them as I find them. I did find a couple where I had put in the number for the national percentage rather than the test-takers percentile. These percentiles are all messed up, which is why the College Board took an extra month, I think.
All y’all talking about you’re 99th percentile and 218 selection indexes fretting and stuff. Y’all best be grateful because I am out here with a 1260 in the 94th percentile with a 192 selection index in Florida.
What’s the difference between the cutoff for semi-finalists and the cutoff for the letter of commendation? Are the semi-finalist cutoffs the ones that everyone in this thread is talking about? Or are they the letter of commendation ones?
SCORES STILL AREN’T UP here in NJ!
@ToThe7thDegree And you know what? You are going to do great AND you get to skip the stress of wondering about all of this between now and September.
Same @TheGFG but in MD!! UGH I’m sick and tired of waiting lmao
@TheGFG So frustrating! Sorry! I am sure she did great.
Daughter finally gets access code email & it won’t work!! Ughh. Now , on hold with CB. Has this happened with anyone else?
People are saying that the lower state cutoffs will go up and the higher state cutoffs will go down, but I feel like it’s the other way around. I go to one of the biggest high schools in my state and I’m the only one who scored above a 190 in the entire 11th grade. Most of the kids didn’t even bring pencils to the test much less study. At least on the old test, some kids knew what to expect, but on the new one most of my grade drew pictures on the scantron. So shouldn’t the lower cutoff states stay lower? Cause as people have said this test was made for the better testers.
She won’t be a candidate for NMF or commended, and that’s fine. We just hope she does well enough to qualify for DH’s company scholarship.
Great - just heard from another homeschooler that used the same testing center and she has the same issues that I have with my two boys. Now I’m sure there was a problem with the testing center!
1480 - 221 SI from GA, hopefully that will do the job.
218-220 cutoff for CA is my prediction. @ my son’s school more than 10 kids will qualify with that range.
are all these predictions being posted based on a 240 scale? So if I received 221 index on this psat 221/228 x 240 is what I should use to compare?
Well, I just got my daughter’s scores. She’s only in the 10th grade, so they don’t count.
Total: 1340
Verbal: 750
Math: 590
SI: 209
You know, I think she may need to work on the math just a little bit.
And by the way, she missed two questions on the verbal section. She got 38 out of 38 on the reading even though she missed one.
1510, 226 SI in Ohio. Thank you, generous reading curve.
If anyone from the classes of 2018/19 would like advice on how I specifically prepared for the test when there is a lack of material available, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help you:-)
@gettingschooled This link is still too generous IMO.
So to eliminate some index scores from the running, shouldn’t we be looking for asterisks beside the SI score on the score report?
