**PSAT Discussion Thread 2015**

Remember that the question for NM is how many people did really well statewide. There are 16,000 NMSF each year. For a state like CA that is around 1 out of every 8 or 9 students in the US, that means your score has to be in the top 1777 to 2000 of the junior scores in the state. So, it doesn’t really matter if the other 300,000 juniors in the state got SIs of 210 or 120 or 24.

illinois’ cutoff is usually a 215 and I got a 214 SI i am honestly cringing at the thought of being short by a single point.
Anyone else from Illinois want to share their scores or thoughts of where the cut off will be.

I am personally going to hug optimism and believe that prepscholars predictions are correct. 8->

@PremiumSalt Allen (founder of PrepScholar) did get like a 44 on the MCAT so he knows his stuff lol. I also hope those are right.

Ok, re-posting since this thread is moving so fast. Here is who has not gotten their scores:

  1. Central New Jersey (not everyone, as we have a report someone from this area did get scores)
  2. MD
  3. Southern New Jersey

Please add yourself and your region.

@icantsleep I’m from Illinois and I got a 216 SI so at this point I’m just aspirant to the possibility that the cutoff will stay in the 210-215 range or even lower (hopefully it won’t go up but I think that there’s a small chance of that happening).

We are in MD and have scores. 1470, SI 222.

lol sucks cuz I live in MD

I have not received an access code (aka the email) and my counselor does not have one either! If you have accessed your score, WHAT DID YOU DO!!! I am from Cincinasti! (ohio)

@YoohooAddict Nope no asterisk lol and I didn’t get a 192. The lowest predicted score by Prepscholar is 192 (forgot what state) but someone said that is around the commended cutoff.

@penngirlpending Nvm about the asterisk. I thought it had to do with NMS qualifications with regards to juniors but I was wrong.

@nerdmonster101 Have you taken the SAT yet? Usually your own account should work fine. But idk some people are having problems getting the score.

Hello. My selction index is 220. Is that good enough for Texas

Is anyone going to try taking the new SAT after seeing your psat scores??

  1. Central New Jersey (not everyone, as we have a report someone from this area did get scores)
  2. MD
  3. Southern New Jersey
  4. Southeastern Pennsylvania

@sbmTW21 i would much rather be where you are. I would feel so much more confident if I was above where the cutoff score usually is. I am basically just going to spend the next 8 months praying that the cutoff goes down that one point

@penngirlpending Yes, I have taken the PSAT! It says my test is available to access but I don’t have an access code. It said talk to your counselor, so I sat with my counselor all through lunch trying to figure it out!!! @starnesb17 Southwest Ohio has not received any scores.

@penngirlpending I did better on the PSAT than I did on the practice ACT I took so I am thinking that might be the route I go. That and since my score is so borderline I want to take the SAT just in case I make it to be a nmsf

hi, I’m in CA and i got 1510/226. I didn’t have an asterisk next to my score.
Does anyone know what the highest selection score index is? Because 226/240 seems really low for only 10 points off.
Also, what does the asterisk mean? I’ve read like 20 pages of this forum and I’ve only gotten is more and more confused.

@icantsleep I’m from IL and got a 216, so I’m really hoping the cutoff is the same as on PrepScholar but a lot of kids in my school got 215+ :frowning:
