@ohiojr I think your daughter would have had a great chance this year to be a NMSF in Ohio. Scores usually improve from sophomore to junior year so keep your fingers crossed!
A lot of friends in SO cal also have not been able to get their scores but I have
Has anyone received the email with the access code today?
No e-mail yet, and no response from the GC whom D e-mailed before school this morning to ask for an access code.
Will a 1470, 221 SI make semifinalist in CA?
Thanks! I hope so.
Are they even sending emails with the access codes?
Can anyone give me a good explanation to why the concordance tables are not wholly accurate?
I am getting concerned that CB is saying, “emails coming by 5:00 Saturday” just to push some of the call volume into next week.
Looks like the CB Score Reports site is down again.
Just thought I would add my kiddo’s lower numbers in the interest of data collection. 1310 total 97/95 percentile,660 verbal 98/96 percentile and 650 math 95/93 percentile. SI 197. Congratulations to all of you on those amazing scores :">
The junior emails with access codes will be sent today or tomorrow per my conversation with CB yesterday.
My cutoff expectation for NJ,MA,CA,MD (highest cutoff states).

I don’t think overall percentile will work.
2)Overall percentile is always higher than subject percentile since not all the students are good at all subjects. -
Here are some links for 2013 PSAT. and 2014 PSAT

When you click the links, you can see each 99 percentile scores of Reading, Writing, Math.
-
If you add the bottom scores of 99 percentile of R,M,W
-
It will be around 221-222
-
This sum of bottom 99 percentile score of R,M.W will definitely higher than 99 percentile of overall score however this sum is very close to cutoff of MA,CA,MD
-
If we know bottom 99 percentile of English and Math, it will be more helpful to estimate for cutoffs .
MA, CA, MD ( SI +1/-1 from the sum, ) NJ ( SI +2/0 from the sum )
What do you guys think?
@bernesemtnmama When I took the PSAT 25 years ago, I would have been thrilled to have your son’s scores and be in the 97th percentile!! With the internet now, all of the 99%'ers can gather together on the discussion and lament about maybe not being chosen as a national merit finalist. I congratulate all of you and hope you realize how gosh darn bless’d intelligent you are!
@yuyoyi Not a bad approach, and kind of similar to something we tried yesterday. We found the lowest 99% was 690V and 720M. By your approach, this would yield a 210, and the offset would make NJ 212. Seems a little low, but that would be great if you were right.
No scores here. -sigh-
Newbie here and first PSAT rodeo. Joined in late yesterday and just now found a helpful post from @higheredrocks several pages ago:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-act-tests-test-preparation/1816872-psat-discussion-thread-2015-p153.html (#2295). Also referenced http://www.nationalmerit.org/nmsp.php.
So top 50,000 qualified scorers are pooled based on just the SI. Lowest SI from the pool determines national commended cutoff. Is 50,000 a constant every year???
There seems to a lot of smart students with high scores in this forum, hope there’s not too many of the 220+ scorers on that 50,000 set … :-S

Does PSAT score play in admissions at all? Is this mainly for NMSF scholarship ?
The school GC has sent some e-mails “explanations” stating that they have no access codes to give us. “When we have the correct information to pass along to you so that you can get your scores online, we will be sending another email that contains instructions as to how to access your score report.” So, it looks like there might have been some error on the school’s end. Just curious, did anyone else who has not yet received scores take the test on the later date?
