We checked with the Coll of Ag Office this morning. Spring Start decisions were released. If you haven’t heard anything, then the decision will come by Mar 31st for Fall '24 admission.

The Purdue ice hockey team has had a phenomenal season and just made Nationals! There’s a cute video of the team captain on Fox59 saying a lot of students don’t even know they have a hockey team. Unfortunately there isn’t a rink on campus, so they drive about an hour to the rink several days a week. Super impressive to see the commitment of these smart students. As an admitted student DS24 is definitely keeping an eye out for Prospects Day! Have a watch of the below video if you are looking for more insight into a couple students at Purdue and the quality of (this) club coach.

As you may be able to tell from my name, this plays a big part of my son’s decision. Baylor University’s rink is over 100 miles away!!

Several folks who were deferred on EA have reported on Reddit and other Purdue CC threads that their portal status changed from “Decided” to “Completed.” Any deferred folks on this forum who have seen the portal change?
Mine hasn’t yet but I saw that too
My son’s also still says “decided.”
I’m actually hoping decisions don’t come out today for those deferred. He is attending the admitted students day for his 2nd choice school this weekend, and I don’t want a denial from his 1st choice school hanging in his head…
I suspect the denials with only happen closer to Mar 31st; at least that is the theory going on at Reddit. Since S24 didn’t get Spring Start admission at the Coll. of Ag, we are now not sure about his chances.
My son applied RD and received an email telling him to check his portal because a decision had been made but when he logged in, there is nothing there to view yet. Just says “complete” still. Anyone else?
Maybe try again? Or try in incognito tab?
My son called and was told this email went out early, but there should be something there in the next 24 hours. I would assume it will be there closer to 4pm when they usually release decisions.

Thank you! My son is at school and I know he is just logging in non stop. I will tell him to focus on class and check again later this afternoon, lol! Easier said than done. Good luck to your son!!

How can we tell for sure that Purdue received my son’s mid year grades (guidance counselor was supposed to send them no later than february 15, according to our school district’s policy?)

I think you can check that on the common app portal. I know you can see if it’s been submitted if your school uses naviance.

Sorry, but why did you rely on your guidance counselor to send, when all Purdue asked was to “Self-Report”? That way you wouldn’t be left wondering at this point…
At my kid’s school, the guidance counselors sent official mid-year reports to all the schools no matter what the individual school policy was. I’m sure they do this because it’s easier for them to not drop the ball. Easy peasey. That would be one possible reason.

The letter my son recieved did not say self report. I didn’t know that was an option

But don’t leave it to chance, if the Deferral letter said to just “self-report”. I would “self-report” and let the HS send official transcripts if that’s what they normally do. No harm if they receive it twice. If somehow the school drops the ball with not sending, and you don’t “self-report”, that’s kind of on you…
Sorry, back thirty years ago, I was told by a HS counselor that they’d do submit something for me, and they didn’t during the application process. My son has also had mix experiences with HS counselors saying they’d do something, and we had to find out several months later that they didn’t. So I get a little OCD during this process…
