Thatās the expectation. Based on the picture posted by someone from last year, it will show as Status: Decided in the end.

Is this like people who got deferred saw the tan thin bar appear a day later than the people who got accepted, last year?

I havenāt noticed this trend in last years thread.
There were stronger tell-tale signs, so may be most people didnāt even discuss this much.
Last year, those who got deferred could see LOCI under Reply Forms.
Those who were accepted could see Change Major option under Change Requests.
Additionally, business applicants who were accepted also saw a business form under Reply Forms.

CS is college of science. PoliSci is notāitās in college of liberal arts. If your student applied for College of Science, your student is considered for College of Science. If CLA was 2nd choice, if not accepted for 1st choice your student will be considered for 2nd choice. If accepted to something you no longer want, you need to fill out a change of major request or accept the original offer and then CODO (Purdue speak for transfer within the university to a different college)
That is too bad they did not realize this earlier. CS is such a hard admit. I wonder if you could call them and ask them to consider Poly Sci as an alternate? It wouldnt be hard to transfer out of CS at Purdue once admitted (cannot transfer in) but you have to get in the door.

I know. I am beyond stressed but being supportive. I think she would have had such a better chance applying polisci. She has great EC and a good ACT and gpa so we will see what happens. I am actually happy she told us know and not a year in the major. Its tough yo make decisions like these for some kids. Oh well, life is messy.

all right, ill join in on the portal astrology. if you google āvisit purdueā and click āadmitted studentsā then āconnect with your college, learn moreā and log in, what do you see? some folks on reddit reported seeing something about āare you ready to take the next step in becoming a boilermaker?ā before it flashed to āyou must be an admitted studentā or something along those lines. however, mine simply said ācurrent event registrations: you have no active registrationsā although i did visit last year so maybe thatās why. can anyone else check and report back?

yes but it should flash with another message before that, if you screen record you can go frame by frame and look. admittedly idk what this could mean but worth checking

I donāt think getting this flash means anything, itās just an intermediary page as itās trying to authenticate you. For someone getting through it in the end, it could be a very positive sign.

Any idea what the thin bar never having disappeared means? It might have disappeared and reappeared while I wasnāt looking at the portal because I checked it very infrequently up until yesterday, but I think it might be the case that it hasnāt done so yet.
Speculation is that once your status bar disappears, they start loading the result; and then once itās back again, that means results are locked.
Last time around between this disappearance and reappearance, there were a number of signs telling admit/defer.
Does having the light background on the portal also signal that the results have been uploaded? Iāve seen some people saying that. I checked the portal for the first time in a few weeks yesterday, and the background had changed from the dark variant to the light one, so Iām wondering if my results may have been uploaded right before I checked.

Most likely your status bar disappeared and reappeared before you could notice.
