Purdue University Early Action for Fall 2025 Admission

Just curious: why would someone who’s accepted send a LOCI to Purdue? Or I misunderstood this?

I meant if they were accepted to another school they like better than Purdue. Sorry if I wasn’t clear. Admitted students to Purdue do NOT need to send in a LOCI, just final transcripts if they matriculate.

Got it. Now that I read it again, you were clear, but I missed your point being that not everyone who’s deferred fills out the LOCI, so it can help to fill it and fill it well.

First part of the LOCI, my D25 wrote about what started her to think about Purdue in 9th grade. This wasn’t in original why essay. Then, she talked about her continued love of the school. Again, it’s not a repeat of the original application. Then, she moved onto a few tournaments she went to which was after the EA submission. Finally, she talked about her email communication with an engineering professor at Purdue who inspired her about an extra curricular activity. She did it in 500 words.

D25 got admitted to CS but no honors and no merit. Definitely excited for this, as such. Is there any way to appeal on the merit side? We are visiting next month for Purdue’s for Me day. Wondering if there is some department or person we can meet to discuss this in person.

From Purdue: “Purdue does not match offers from other institutions and does not consider appeals for merit aid.”

Merit is highly competitive because the university focuses on keeping tuition and room and board frozen for everyone.

Hey everyone, quick question. I’ve been accepted to study math and am very excited about that! From my understanding of reading Purdue’s website, I won’t be able to see my financial aid offer until after I accept admission. That seems a bit odd, as I need to compare costs between schools. Does anyone have any experience with this?

That’s not accurate. If your Fafsa is processed you should already be able to check your offer on student portal. No need to accept offer.

Our offer letter said the same thing which was confusing

That is not correct.
But, need based financial aid packages will be available in mid March.

This is what the offer letter says. I don’t see anything confusing about it.

One of the first steps in your journey to Purdue is to activate your online student career account. To activate your account, return to your [application portal], click the ‘Set Up Your Student Career Account’ button, and follow the prompts. With this account, you’ll gain access to your @purdue.edu email and online student portal, myPurdue, through which you will conduct most of your business with Purdue, including accepting your offer and viewing your financial aid notification.

If you go to your student portal, click on New Student Task List tile, you will see a list of tasks. Under them there’s a section for “View Your Financial Aid Status.”
I can see Cost of Attendance there, but as @momofboiler1 mentioned need-based aid isn’t processed yet. When it is, that’s where you will be able to see what’s offered. Since we wont qualify for need-based, I presumed it’s processed for us, as our Fafsa shows as processed already.

I will ask my daughter to check the portal again when she gets home, thanks for the tab details!

Okay, got it! I didn’t get any merit aid in my letter, which is alright. Just wanted to know when the FAFSA-based info might be available. Thanks!

Does Purdue sends physical admission letters by mail?

I believe they stopped sending physical letters a cycle or two ago.

Hi, Apologies if this has already been answered. My DD was accepted EA and to the Honors College. There was no merit scholarship offer included in the acceptance letter. Is there any chance that she might receive notification of merit later this spring? Or should I assume that she won’t get merit $$?
Thank you so much!

Merit would have been in acceptance letter so she won’t get merit. Purdue gives out very little merit.

My D had the same. Accepted to Honors with no mention of merit. When acceptances came out, there were many people discussion the merit their student was offered, but no Honors for them.
