My son got same email tonight that he’s on WL. Hey I’ll take that.
Was he deferred admission? Or what’s his admission status?
My son received the same email. Not sure when a final decision will be made (I didn’t see the email).
You mean for deferred students? Do they send an email for students to check portal? Or students must sign in to check for this?
He’s admitted. He got an email saying he was waitlisted for the honors college
They said June 15
From perusing Reddit it seems odds are OK to get into honors.
My son mentioned that he got WL email with final decision by June15. He got into both UIUC and UT , so he may not wait for JM honors and move on
My DS got the same WL email for honors college. We were glad to at least hear something about it, since it hadn’t been mentioned in his admissions acceptance letter.
bruh honestly purdue ea decisions were so wack. I got deferred from purdue cs, but got into uiuc cs and maryland cs. Like how? 1500 SAT, 4.35 GPA, good extracurriculars.
This year, it seems brutal. Try to send the LOCI if you are still interested in Purdue. But you have fantastic offers. Congrats!
I am a high school senior who just got accepted to Purdue through Early Action. My GPA is 4.0 unweighted and 4.36 weighted; my SAT score is a 1300 although I do plan on retaking the SATs. I was wondering what financial aid I would be offered based on my academics.
Financial aid is strictly need based. Merit awards were included with the admissions offer.
Yeah I already sent it. Hope I can get in cause Purdue is pretty cheap.
No need to retake the SAT. You’ve already been admitted. A higher score will not lead to anything.
@momofboiler1 soliciting some advice from you.
I just finalized our logistics for Purdue campus visit.
We’ve registered for Purdue’s For Me on Feb 21st and Daniels Scholars Day on Feb 22nd.
How would you suggest we go about evaluating DD’s fit?
Anything that we shouldn’t miss around the campus?
I recommend that everyone eat in one of the dining halls and pay attention to how students interact with each other. Walk around campus outside of the structure tours and do the same.
We also walked in to visit the office for her intended major. The admin ended up giving us an impromptu tour of the labs and gave us a detailed history of the department, how course scheduling worked, etc…. We were lucky that it worked out to just walk in but if that sounds like something your student would enjoy, you could call ahead and see about scheduling a time.
Enjoy the visit!!!
Setting up the account … I don’t think that constitutes your accepting the offer.
Yes, we did that.
Is the account helpful during the visit?
I remember during lunch, you break out and sit with the course coordinator/advisor for the major you are admitted to. use the opportunity to quiz them thoroughly on the 4 year plan and how it helps with internships/jobs. The same major might have a very different courses in the other schools you are considering.
