Great job. Good luck next year.
On my daughter’s acceptance it says “Congratulations! The Purdue University Admissions Committee is pleased to offer you admission to Economics in the Daniels School of Business”. Now I am looking at FAQs and it says most students are admitted to the lower division as pre-economics, but some are directly admitted to the upper division. Is she admitted to upper division because it doesn’t say “pre-economics”? Or how would I know and does it matter?
Yes, it’s upper division, so congratulations.
But we discussed this with several students during our visit last month.
They mentioned, it doesn’t make any difference at all; you will still go through similar academic advising and take classes based on your plan of study and any credits you’re bringing.
Thanks for the info.
Can anyone clarify if you’ve confirmed that the tuition rate for 25-26 is guaranteed for 4 years? There’s been some debate about that. Our understanding is that the tuition for 25-26 is the same as this year but that there is no lock in. meaning it could go up the following year. With all research dollars being lost, there’s some speculation that Purdue may have to finally change tuition.
Does anyone know what the latest to apply for housing as honors is? My parents want me to wait until our college visit (March 21st) to commit :/.
That is correct. Every year they vote on tuition. Absolutely no guarantee it won’t go up after next year.
No, Purdue does not guarantee tuition lock in for 4 years. They typically announce tuition in early December for the following school year.
Does any college provide a tuition lock in? It’s the first time I am hearing this term. Thank you for bringing this up.
In an email from Ohio State it says this…”Tuition freeze: You’re locked in at the same rate for four whole years.” So maybe it is something some schools do.
UIUC has a 4 year tuition lock.
Dayton has also done a 4 year tuition lock.
It’s certainly not the norm though.
Anyone who was deferred and filled out a LOCI, any news on when a decision might come?
Nothing yet. Hoping for Friday
Anyone’s portal changed today? My student’s portal used to have a gold button in the LOCI section that said “submit your LOCI”. The button is now gone. She submitted hers back in January but the button just went away.
