Purdue University Early Action for Fall 2025 Admission

Totally makes sense; that’s exactly what I was meaning to convey, that the experience can have a very different impact in attending regular vs a special event.
In the end these are all great schools, any of these that you fall in love with first is what matters—it just happened to be Purdue for my DD, and I’m not complaining. Saves me a lot of money… lol…

Any business school admits, if you get invited to Daniel’s Scholars Day, I’d highly recommend attending it, particularly if you’re on the fence about your decision.
From hosting a reception at Shively Club (Ross-Ade stadium) the evening before, to a packed agenda next day, it’s totally worth it. In fact, for business admits, if you have to pick between Purdue’s For Me and Scholars Day, pick the latter.
Lots of Daniel School merch and stickers, food, non-stop interaction opportunities with faculty and students. Highly personalized interactions—they had noted specific details from DD’s application, and had hand written notes of topics we should discuss with their advisors specific to her career interests, intended major, and IB credit transfers. I can’t speak any more highly of Purdue students—super kind, talented and down-to-earth. They’d sense you have a question, and come to you without you needing to look around… lol…

We attended Daniel’s Scholars Day and thought it was great as well. Very impressive event. I too would highly recommend it.

Same here, submitted LOCI for WL. Hoping to hear soon.

I would guess this Friday or the next would be the first week we see decisions

Kind of secretly hoping mine also falls in love with Purdue since we are OOS and his older brother goes there (Hes a CS/AI/Math major and we have been very impressed with his experience at Purdue). Purdue is around 15-20K lesss OOS than anywhere else. I dont know how they do it. We are only doing a regular admit day but we are leveraging a friend who is a Daniels ambassador to give an insiders tour.

Regular admit day should be fine. But do try meeting AJ Frigo (Director of admissions at Daniels) in person; Such an amazing person to talk to and listen in. He really knows how to sell Daniels to kids… lol.
DD heard back on her Kelley petition earlier in the week, but after her Purdue visit feels Daniels will be a much better fit considering what she wants out of her college experience.

That is great that all her options were open to her. I will look for AJ, thanks for the tip!

How has the internship search been for the older brother if I may ask?

He has had good paying internships every summer. He got several offers from the first career fair he attended as a Freshamn (they hold in late August) but he ended up getting other additional offers locally in our area (we are in VA near DC) and he took one of those. Note the hiring for the next summer generally is done by early Oct.

The second year someone who knows of his skills reached out and asked him to apply at their company and the third year a corporate sponsor of a club he is active in at Purdue recruited him to their company.

We feel very lucky these have ALL been local to us here so he comes home every summer- Purdue’s career fair does trend a bit midwest/Chicago outside of some national defense contractors and the agencies (CIA, FBI, etc).

Truthfully it can be tricky to get internships Freshman year - my son happens to has some specific skills that are in demand; but either through the career fair or local connections, the Purdue name does carry weight and helps open doors.

I recall someone mentioning previously that Purdue no longer sends acceptance letter in mails.
We received one over this weekend. In addition to a neat prospectus, and stickers, there’s a QR code to order a complimentary yard flag.
Previously we received some stickers from the college.
After the campus visit last week, our home is now full of free Purdue swag:- sweat shirt, hat, pens, pins, tech tattoos, stickers, yard flag, tote bag… that’s quite a lot compared to original expectations of literally nothing but a digital acceptance letter :grinning:

Does Purdue (engineering) send acceptance package or something? I was admitted on 15th January, but nothing so far. I’ve also not seen anything online about Purdue giving out acceptance packages.

It’s coming. We got it in the mail in recent days.

Have you accepted the offer yet? Some schools don’t send anything until you commit.

Was the invite an email or a letter in the mail?

What kind of invite?

It was an email invite sent on Jan 22nd to register for the event.
During the event they mentioned it was sent to some top 15-20% of business admits, but it could have been said to make the attendees feel good.
They also mentioned that this year Daniels had the most selective EA batch with acceptance rate around 30% compared to 55+% in prior years.

Thank you. Not sure if my son got it or not. In any case, we’re going to Purdue’s For Me day in March.
