This Morning at Purdue News, they said it will be January 15 for Early Action. here is the Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jD5c0tPqM8M
Thatâs always been there.
Yeah but thatâs been there.
My daughter received an email from one of the student organizations this past weekend to introduce the organization to her. Has anyone else received emails in this nature? Is this a positive sign or is this something they send to all applicants?
Except for some emails from the college/major late December, my D25 didnât receive any emails from any student organizations.
It could be a positive sign, not sure though.
I know that my daughter left the âinterested in activitiesâ section blank in Purdue specific questions of the common app. Are these emails related to any of the activities your daughter selected in the application?
My best wishes for a positive outcome for your daughter.
Yes, itâs solely based on GPA â and it is very transparent. There is tons of information available online about the process and requirements. I have a FYE planning mechanical who came in with enough credits as a junior and is currently 3 credits away of being classed as a senior.
It is not solely based on GPA. Grades are a primary consideration but not the only determining factor for transitioning from FYE to engineering major. As has been shared >90% get their first choice.
As you await your decisions on Jan 15th, a couple things to keep in mind:
HISTORICALLY the admits have come out first and the first wave hits mid afternoon, not at 5PM.
Some of you high stat kids are going to get bypassed and see lower stat kids get in. Take your bitterness elsewhere. Purdue doesnât admit on numbers alone. It is a land grant school and hasnât forgotten that mission.
DEFERRED IS NOT REJECTED. Iâll say it again. DEFERRED IS NOT REJECTED. Purdue does not do soft rejects this way like some schools. You are most definitely still in play. You are now being considered against the pool of regular admission candidate and other deferrals. Thatâs it.
Do not knee jerk shoot off an email to Purdue making your case if deferred. Collect yourself, talk to your guidance counselor and plan your response with the letter of continued interest. If there is some earth-shattering/game-changing update, let the admissions office know that too.
If you consider Purdue your first choice and do not need a financial aid decision, tell Purdue if admitted you will attend. If you need financial aid, tell them they are your first choice.
Theyâve tweaked their methods over the past several yearsâsometimes sending out regular decisions on Fridays and sometimes waiting and doing a bulk drop.
Good luck to all who applied and are awaiting the 15th.
She mentioned this student organization in her Purdue essay. Fingers crossed! Wishing for good results for your daughter too.
Which student organization
Some more changes in the portal last evening.
The application status tan box has disappeared.
Can someone see âChange Major / Appealâ option under Change Requests already?
Apparently that was the strongest sign of acceptance, per the portal astrologers in last yearâs thread.
I still have the application status box. No âChange Majorâ option either
same
same.
There is usually another smaller application status bar, just above the gray bar with your application reference number, that has now disappeared. I wish I had an older screenshot to share.
Just found this one on the internet. You see this âApplication Status: Completeâ bar? This is the one that has disappeared.
Ours has the gray bar with the reference # on it. No other changes that I can tell.
what do u see when u click on reply forms. I currently do not have
I donât see the reply forms tab at this time. I just posted this picture from the internet to show the Application Status bar, which has now disappeared.
I guess Reply tabs are shown when results are loaded, which is probably in progress right now.
