I am a current lville student class of 27’ if you have any questions feel free to ask!
@Oyindxa if you have any questions!!
heyy!! since you go to lawrenceville right now, i do have some questions for you!!!
- how is the commute from class to class? is it long since the campus is big or is the commute short
- are the kids mainly nice? i know that not everyone is nice but i just want to know how lville kids q act and how they interact with each other
- am i going to be busy all the time?
- will i have free time?
- how is study hall? dreadful or productive?
-
From class to class it is usually about a 5min walk you have 10min to get to your next class before class starts. Though the campus is big all the academic buildings are very close.
2.The Lville kids are usually nice there still a few bad people but you can steer away from them -
Freshman year no you are not going to be busy all the time, the school wants you to socialize and have fun, usually once school and sports are done you have about 3 hours to socialize and even after study hall you have time as well.
-
Study hall I will say is fun for me b/c I have a roommate and all my friends rooms are next to mine so it can be a lot of fun with friends, but there are those days where you have to really study and I can get the work done after your done with the work people usually end up watching movies and running up and down the halls doing things
4.Like I said before your free time is a lot. It really depends on the person though, if you are a day student I would say you have more free time and for me I get hours of free time sometimes I nap or my friends and I take walks to TJ’s and hang out there for an hour. Lunch on everyday except Monday b/c of advisory is 2 hours so you have a lot of time

Kiddo1 is a senior at Lville, and her biggest complaint is that she never has free time. But obviously, a lot depends on what you’re involved in.
do you know if we are going to have Saturday classes for 2024-2025?
and also is there a hookup culture and Lawrenceville?
They will not have classes every Saturday, but I believe there are still Saturday commitments around two times per month. I don’t think I still have the email that outlined It all, but I’ll copy and paste here if I find it.
And yes, there is hookup culture at Lville, and at many other BSs.
next year my teacher said no saturday classes but you would have 3 classes a day each being 90 min
There will always be a hookup culture but I would say its the worst freshman year
From the parent portal:
- Each term includes two Saturday class weekends, 2-3 all-campus academic program Saturdays, and 1-2 community weekends.
- There are 5 Closed Community Weekends (of 30 weeks during the academic year) during which boarding students will not be granted weekend permissions and day students will be required to be present. As a boarding school community that thrives on togetherness, it is important that students dedicate themselves to being present on campus with each other and for each other. In 2024-25, these weekends are:
- Sept. 7-8: House Olympics
- Nov. 9-10: Hill Weekend
- Jan. 11-12: Winter Community Weekend
- May 17-18: Spring Community Weekend
- May 24-25: Commencement Weekend
More info on classes:
- Classes are 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. daily, providing consistency and predictability and prioritizing a more consistent sleep schedule.
- On full class days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday), there are no back-to-back-classes. The buffer of Consultation and Community Time and Lunch provides a different pace during the day, offering time to check in with faculty or an opportunity to socialize.
- All classes are 80 minutes each, providing time for deeper exploration and an opportunity to more fully engage in campus resources like GCAD, the Big Red Farm, and other experiential offerings.
- Each day has three classes, so students are regularly preparing for three subjects rather than five, which allows greater flexibility in their evening schedule and reduced nightly homework obligations.
- Consultation is available daily, giving students additional access to faculty or added time for homework.
- Community Time anchors each day and provides opportunities to convene House meetings, club meetings, music ensembles, or school meetings.
- Lunch time is consistent each day, an important step in our aspiration to support healthy eating habits.
why freshman year being the worst?
the students like to call it freshminitis and its just that people see new people their teenagers, but I would say its not ALL freshman just a certain part
ohhhh okay that makes sense
since like 9th graders who are 14-15 have their hormones running and stuff idk man
yeahhhhhh but its calmed down by this time of year
okay good thats good
how are the academics at Lawrenceville? are they hard for freshmen?
Ill be honest it is quite rigorous, you have to keep on top of your studies. For the first term its pass/fail so its easier, though the next term is hard on all freshman no matter what. Also if your in a higher math it will be hard. You have test or quizzes every week sometimes more than one. But I’ve gotten used to it and I’m adjusting pretty well.
