Rant Alert: TV shows cancelled

Men Of A Certain Age. Best show that nobody watched.

^^ We loved Men of a Certain Age.

Carrying a grudge as well. Can we sign a petition?

Did anybody notice that the guy that plays detective britten was also lucius malfoy?

I didn’t notice until someone pointed it out. Now I giggle every time I see either character.

^ Kind of like how the guys in 101 Dalmatians are House and Mr. Weasley lol.

He also had a story arc on The West wing

And

[Jeeves and Wooster - Puttin’ On The Ritz -](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube)

Yes. Jason Isaacs has had a successful acting career in film/theatre/tv since the '80s. One of my favorite roles of his was as Colin, a photojournalist in the Gaza story arc in Season 5 of The West Wing. I’ve enjoyed him on Awake, and it’s fun when you hear bits of his British accent slipping out.

I didn’t know about CSI Miami. I’ll have to get by with CSI NY and CSI. CSI NY is my favorite of the three.

If you’re a science fiction fan, you’re used to disappointment. These shows get cancelled left and right. The problem is that they are so complex and it takes a season to understand what’s going on and a lot of the audience gets left behind if they miss a few episodes. The SyFy channel is more into WWF and Reality shows than science fiction anymore.

The other thing about Science Fiction shows is that they typically cost a lot to produce.

I’ve watched a few old shows that died after a season on Hulu - some good stuff out there in the past 7 years that I hadn’t heard of - one season and done.

Ugh don’t remind me :(. Same with the History Channel (but swap WWF for even more reality shows).

New Shows cancelled:

“Awake” - I preferred “Journeyman”
“Ringer” - I didn’t really love it but I just watched coz I lke Sarah Michelle Gellar/Buffy
“The River” – I watched all the episodes. It was okay but I do have a dozen or so negative comments like I rolled my eyes with the Emmet/dragonfly/cocoon plot.
I prefer to watch the shows above than “the Bachelor” or “Bacherolette.”

Old: “Pushing Daisies” (Loved it!)
Saved: “Fringe” (but I’m getting tired of cortexiphan)

GCB :frowning:
Old: The Black Donnellys. I was obsessed with this show sophomore year I think? I have all thirteen episodes on DVD

I will admit to being disappointed that “The Finder” will not return. I found the characters appealing and the whole show fun-goofy. I liked the casting too. I know it’s not “great television,” but I enjoyed it.

I, too, miss “Pushing Daisies.”

I have decided to rent Firefly after reading this thread. I heard elsewhere that it was excellent.

^ Firefly is on Netflix if you have it.

Most of the shows I like got renewed - particular favorites being Revenge, Blue Bloods.

I did like Awake and am sad it got cancelled.

Firefly will always be missed in this house.

I’ll be missing “Missing”.

Harry’s Law is cancelled? No, please say it ain’t so…

Current and cancelled:
Finder (I haven’t watched much tv lately; this is one I’ll miss)

Current and saved:
Fringe

Cancelled and missed:
Firefly (Castle is ok, but no Firefly)
Sports Night
Pushing Daisies

We have all the episodes (so far) of Scandal. We were waiting to see if it got renewed before getting attached. It got renewed, we watched the first one, and liked it. I found out my 21-year-old watches and likes it too.

momof2kids - Just a heads up that the first episode is a little slower paced than the rest. It has a lot of character development. Never met someone who watched to the third episode who didn’t want to then finish the series.

I still miss Firefly (which I only watched on DVD), but Castle has its moments. (renewed)
We like White Collar.
Just started Game of Thrones on DVD so we are a season behind.

Don’t actually watch anything on TV (and don’t watch much time delayed on Hulu)
