<p>yeah some of the areas in greater san jose area are nice…but others are really scary.</p>

<p>I live in/near the SJ area. Palo Alto is all white people…I feel VERY out of place there.</p>

<p>Actually Cal Poly is ranked just in a ranking with schools whose highest degree is a masters degree.</p>
<p>I got into santa clara today =] Got accepted into there Leavey School of Business, my friends also have been accepted. I’m pretty excited, if it doesn’t work out for me in the UC System, then i will probably go there if i don’t get into USC.</p>

<p>okay, the waitlist works like this…</p>
<p>lets say cal poly gets 2,000 applications for biomedical engineering (this is all hypothetical), and they accept 750 of those applications. Cal poly will accept more people than they actually have spaces because people choose to go to different colleges. Lets say cal poly’s yield rate is 50% (A yield rate is the accepted students that choice to go to a college divided by the total number of acceptances). That means that cal poly expects 375 people of the 750 acceptances to go to their college. If only 350 people choose to go to cal poly, that means those empty 25 openings will be filled by people of the waitlist. But, if 375 people or more choose to go to cal poly, then no one from the waitlist will have their status change. So, pretty much have a little hope to get off the waitlist, but don’t expect anything to happen.</p>

<p>yaa probably. there’s always off campus avaliable… but i highly doubt you’ll manage to get on campus.</p>
