Good explanation felix, you’ve got the kinks worked out for me. Once again, if I offended anyone, I assure you it’s not because I dislike Asians or something like that.
Peace.

White.
Upper class.
Only 2250 SAT (although I do have a 35 ACT).
2 B+'s my freshman year.
Catholic school? My school has a 30.3 ACT average, but our track record for Harvard is atrocious.

Yup, this.

Is white/upperclass really a downer? I don’t think it’s as helpful as a URM, but why would it hurt an app? No financial aid, legacies…

Rushed supplemental essay, average SAT

In response to anberlina’s question, from what I have witnessed on several websites here’s the hierarchy of races within college admissions:

Native American
African American
Hispanic
White
Asian

That sounded very Nazi to me

@ivyeic
2 B+s freshman year won’t get you rejected, don’t lose hope!

@Harvard521

Sounds pretty right to me… (as messed up as it really is…)

Thanks for your responses, though it really is messed up.

you use “less than 14 days” when it should be “fewer than 14 days”…

a) race
b) 1st semester senior year grades dropped (all into the 80s), and even before this I was just top 5%
c) nothing particularly stands out in my application
d) possible application error- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/harvard-university/1106683-possible-problem-my-harvard-app.html
e) and yeah. it’s harvard.

whatevs. I don’t expect anything good.

Harvard521…actually, Asian male should be at the very bottom.

because I didn’t apply.

No hooks

Didn’t impress my interviewer.

Poor SAT writing score, and sent it because I didn’t want to pay to send it later in case it was good. Poor ACT essay score to back it up.

I’ve already been accepted at another good school, so my luck-o-meter has run out.
I think I would have preferred if my one acceptance had been Harvard.
5.Bland essay

but, to make myself feel better on March 30th, I’m going to go with @CBatch’s reason: dashing good looks. :)

Life will go on, right?

not special ):

Because your file got accidentally deleted along with the 34 applications that were lost due to a server crash last month.

A low SAT score, although my ACT score should make up for it barely.
I’m white and don’t need financial aid. Although I do grow up in one of the poorest counties of Texas, and am a minority in the county I live in (less than 5% whites, and more than 95% Hispanic)… Although that doesn’t help at all, because I’m a majority in terms of the whole US. Sometimes I wish this was regional.

Urberville,

Where did you get that information about the server crash? Or were you joking?
