Rhp 2010

Oh well, I know USC likes to give pretty good financial aid so hopefully that willl work out for you. Wait, are RHP students required to live in Trojan Hall? I’ve heard some pretty bad things about it too. I thought you could pick and choose any housing open to freshman. What did he say about the food? LA has great food, so I guess mediocre campus food would be alright :)

Yeah, I’m in the same boat as hlfinsninsmnc in terms of financial aid. How long did you wait between your application status change and receiving the letter?

I’m curious about that too. My status just changed to “forwarded.” My SAT 2 scores just came out today and I sent them in so hopefully it’s a good thing.

I think RHP follows the same general timeline.

Hey guys! Any updates for anyone?

Also, are any of you going to one of the Explore USC things?

I’m going to the Explore USC on March 4/5. How about you?

Ah that’s when I’m going!

PS How did you RSVP because I’m afraid I used a defunct section of their site that they don’t use anymore to RSVP for that day…

That’s so cool! Maybe I’ll see you there. As for RSVP-ing, in the Experience USC brochure that was sent, under Reservations it states that you can register for it “by visiting [” + loginpagetitle + “](http://www.usc.edu/USConnect) and clicking on either the Admissions or Events tab.” I did this, and I got a confirmation email for it, so I think as long as you got that email I think you’re okay.

Aaaahhhh… I forgot that cc doesn’t allow writing the website… however the link does work, so you can check if this was the same one you used.

Have fun at Explore! Good luck on your scholarship interviews. Let us know how you find USC!
Froggy- I remember you saying you ice skated. Have you been watching the Olympics? I didn’t have much school the past two weeks due to Maryland and it’s ineptness when it comes to snow, so I became quite obsessed with watching figure skating :)

I definitely have been watching the Olympics! Unfortunately I didn’t have school off this week although half the schools in the area got the week of for “ski week” so I’ve been staying up until midnight each night, then waking up at around four or five in the morning to go to skate before actually going to school. I still don’t get why NBC can’t air the Olympics live on the West Coast…grrrrr…Okay, enough with the ranting- that’s great that you are enjoying the figure skating. Do you have a favorite for the ladies’ competition?

Wow- I just realized that I can’t spell “off”

btw thanks for the good luck- I think I’ll be needing it. Good luck to you too- hang in there!

i wish i could watch the olympics, but then i remembered that i live in the west coast and NBC likes to tape delay all the events even though we’re in the same timezone as vancouver. so screw NBC. what’s the point of watching sports if it’s not live

Ouch, waking up that early to skate sounds rough! Yeah, NBC sucks for not broadcasting it live. If I were you, I’d just sleep early and watch clips later online! Then again I’m a huge brat when I don’t get enough sleep. I can’t imagine waking up that early for anything, let alone ice skating.

Hm, I don’t really have a favorite because I don’t know much about skating. I usually pick one after watching the short program for arbitrary reasons (I liked Lysacek because he was graceful and he reminded me of Zachary Quinto, and I’ve always loved Johnny Weir because he’s so epic). However, I guess I’ll slightly root for Mirai Nagasu because apparently I have a friend who knows her.

What about you? How did you feel about the men and pair programs? It might be cool to hear from someone who actually knows what they’re talking about lol  Is anyone else watching?

Oh and thanks, I’m barely hanging in there. I’m just focusing on boosting my grades and SAT scores for now! USC is always on my mind, so Olympics and studying make for good distractions.

For the men’s programs I thought that Evan should have won overall, but the way that he won (scoring-wise) was completely off: he was robbed in the artistic score, but he was given credit for his second triple axel, which was underrotated. Unfortunately I picked Plushenko for my fantasy figure skating lineup, so I’m a bit bummed about that. As for the pairs, I believe that the placements were extremely accurate, since Shen and Xiao are absolutely amazing! For the ladies’ competition I think that either American can end up on the podium, but I’m giving Rachael Flatt the edge, since she has a triple-triple combo. I’m so excited to watch tonight, since Meryl Davis and Charlie White are doing an original dance to Indian classical/Bollywood music- whoever did their choreography is immensely talented.

Did you think Johnny Weir was robbed? I thought he should have placed higher than 6th judging by the audience.
The Meryl Davis and Charlie White dance was really good! Unfortunately school started at regular time today so I couldn’t watch the whole thing.

Someone posted on another thread that he/she already got a rejection from RHP! I’m scared. I thought they didn’t come until April.

I do think Johnny Weir was robbed, because he skated the best programs that I have ever seen him skate combined in a competition- he seems to be taking it in stride though, making me respect him even more. If you get a chance, you should youtube his Poker Face exhibition program- it is (borrowing from Barney) legendary!

I don’t think it was really a rejection so much as not getting an acceptance, but I may be wrong- as for being scared, the Johnny Weir program should make you forget about it at least for a couple of minutes. :)

I’m embarrassed to say that I have seen the Poker Face program (multiple times). I’m a HUGE Weir fan :). This happened when I was flipping through channels or something and caught his documentary. Then I watched all his episodes online. I loved it. It was severely biased towards him, so it sort of made Lysacek seem like a jerk. I’m also a huge HIMYM and Neil Patrick Harris fan so I loved that legendary reference.

No- she confirmed it was a rejection. I’m afraid I’ll be getting one soon too :(. I’m really upset. Hopefully something will come through, but I’m starting to doubt it.
