RIP Green Squares

No, but I am sure you can find someone to chance you on it!

I liked it as a convenient way to register approval of posts…like tweets vs emails. Since people I had never seen before popped up with huge numbers of boxes, I figured that some of the “class of” threads were giving each other lots of props.

I’d be happy to keep the ability to briefly and quickly tell someone I liked their post without having to send a pm or clog up the threads, and do away with the actual greenies.

Not a fan; glad it’s gone. It quickly became obvious to me that it was a game, masquerading as something useful.

I also think that likes attached to posts would make more sense. And I also would love more than 50 messages worth of storage.

Coolweather, do you have an upward trend in your prestigiosity? I hear Admins really love that!

Sent from my DROIDX using CC

The loss of my precious squares has sent me into a doughnut eating binge shame spiral.

^ musica I would give you a “like” for that one if I could ;)

I didn’t even know how it worked. Still don’t. Guess it doesn’t matter now.

As much as I hated the green dots, I would love to award musicamusica a few for her response on a thread today (not this thread, either).

I thought it was fun, didn’t take it too seriously, and never really figured it out, but enjoyed adding reps to posts I liked. I also had fun giving and collecting for awhile on the green thread, LOL. It was nice to be able to give positive feedback to some posts without having to post a reply. I liked that. Maybe I’ve gotten used to that because of FB, but I enjoy liking good/helpful or witty posts. Of course some of the more knowledgeable/helpful posters weren’t turning green that quickly, so maybe it didn’t give an accurate representation of some posters contributions. I assumed those posters would catch up with time.

Sikorsky - I am a CC legacy and have some other hooks. Please chance me.

Sorry, no chance. Your ECs are only average, and you don’t have enough volunteer hours.

If coolweather was one of the folks who set up and used a greenie excel spread sheet rep tracker, that would count as an EC in my book.

I don’t want to take away xiggi’s job. I will be also charged with plariagism.

There was a green thread? and a game? I was really oblivious.

Admins: Since you’re reading this thread, can we have the ability to bookmark our posts so I know where I last left off? A LIKE button would also make me very happy.

Thanks!

i agree with jym… the ability to have more pm’s would really be appreciated. often receive pm’s about a school that doesnt have a forum on here… so i have to delete them and then drives me crazy going through ones i’ve saved to find what we were talking about.

parent56, You don’t have to delete pms - super easy to save them as txt files.

i do save them as text files and but i probably have about 100 of those (each time i delete to make room its a new text file)

CC sends a message to my comcast email. If I think I may need the PM at a later date I save the email. However I too would like the PM limit to be raised. It’s frustating when you try to send a pm and it says the person has reached their PM 50 limit.

I never understood the green squares. I would like a “like” button.

I think the ability to send a few words privately about a post was good - although I heard it was sometimes used negatively. That part could happen without it being cumulative. But it would need to save more than 5.
