Assuming you got good news? Congratulations!!!

We are a sample of one so please consider it accordingly. My son did not apply to Robertson but was nominated as a semi finalist directly by admissions at Duke. Shortly after being told he was a finalist for Robertson he received a very strongly worded likely letter and a separate letter inviting him to visit campus, meet a Dean, and was offered an auto admit to the FOCUS program.

It was clear to us when we visited campus that the AO at Duke was very aware of Robertson status and that the two certainly compare notes.

I donā€™t have any definitive knowledge but I think you can feel very confident. Your selection places you amongst the very top applicants and Robertson is deliberately much more selective than general Duke admissions (which is incredibly competitive).

Get ready the next round of interviews if very intense.

I think you have good reason to be optimistic. These are the letters from 2018 so you can get an idea of the time line and offering. Definitely felt like the Robertson semi finalist was the harbinger of all that followed.

The email from 3/1 says everyone will get good and bad news at the same time, it wonā€™t be rolling like semi-finalists announcements. Sit tight itā€™s coming :slight_smile:

Itā€™s been 6 years since my son was rejected from Robertson after attending the finalist round. I can assure you life goes on and your kids will do great!! Just having gotten this far means they stood out in a very talented and crowded pool. Better days coming!

@Catcherinthetoast did your student still get into Duke at least? Have been trying to figure out the likelihood of Duke admission given Robertson semi-finalist status, especially since they donā€™t specify whether semi-finalists are so for Duke or UNC.

Yes he was accepted to Duke and several Ivies, Gtown, and ND. The whole process felt like a series of ups and downs that in hindsight was nothing but needless anxiety. I donā€™t mean to diminish the stress but I am trying to assure you given our experience.

Kids that are viable candidates for Robertson will have great options. They stood out if they made the semi final round. To be specific my kid didnā€™t apply to Robertson but was put forward by Duke admissions as a semi finalist and then submitted his application at their suggestion.

Yep, we are in the same situation. Sounds like multiple candidates across Reddit, Discord, and here heard both acceptances and rejections today from both Duke and UNC though.
