Romani Jr is on the way

@katliamom the medication really did help. She’s very good at self monitoring and realizing when she needs help.

@garland I was the same way with my babies. They only got interesting after six months or so.

Eating, sleeping, pooping machines at first- thank goodness they evolve from that or humanity would have died out eons ago.

?
“Luckily” if all goes to plan (ha!) we’ll be not rushing out the door since I’ll be induced.

For those of you still doing your betting on date and sex, I’ll let you know that they’re not letting me go past April 13. 39 weeks is the absolute latest.

I bought the rest of my baby registry and yikes. Even with the discount, that took a bite. Oh well! I’ve decided to buy it all I need and return whatever especially with baby coming any time. You can only use the completion coupon once so better to buy it and return it than pay full price.

Oh! And I setup a pediatrician. We used a very, very thorough process to find one: ger bio said she has two dogs that she spends most of her free time with and the entire practice doesn’t accept anti-vax families (medical exclusions obviously but they don’t fall under anti-vax). Good enough for me! ?

I have a cute story from yesterday that shows one of the little things I love about Mr R. For background, Mr R is a gamer (relevant here that he’s a high ranking person in his gaming group which has hundreds of people- no I don’t get it either but he makes some money off it so I don’t ask too many questions), colorblind, and has basically the same views on gender I do. We were going through a bag of hand-me-down and new clothes and found a pink gamer onesie:

Mr: “Ohhhh they can wear this if I’m baby wearing and gaming!”
Me: “just so you know in case we have a boy, it’s pink.”
Mr: “uh huh, and?”
Me: “I just wanted to give you a head’s up before you show it off to the gaming group.”
Mr: “if anyone has something to say about my child being in pink, they can find another (gaming group).”

(And don’t worry, we’ve talked about baby wearing and gaming with the MFM and ask long as they’re not facing the screen, it’s fine.)

Hospital tour tonight! We know where we’re delivering but want to get some info like what formula they use and general stay questions. (Like what visitors can I have and when).

My liver numbers are back up so baby might be here sooner rather than later.

Also baby voted in their first election today lol

Just a heads up that some maternity wards are limiting the number of visitors to one at a time. Keep an eye out for that. It means coordinating who comes when.

Can’t believe how quickly 33 weeks has passed.

And to register my vote, I think kids get really interesting at 3rd grade. It’s the first year (ime/imo) that they’re learning real material in school. They can discuss. I find that a fascinating period. Different than songs, writing your name or the early parts of math. Mine started this period with dinosaurs. They were entranced.

Xx

@lookingforward we specifically asked about that. As of now, there’s no plans to change visiting policies but I plan on calling every few days just so there’s no last minute surprises.

Right now, UMich’s hospital policies are pretty loose - 4 people can accompany you through all of birth (!) and an unlimited number after birth.

I can’t wait until kiddo and I can have actual conversations. That’s what I’m looking forward to. It will be interesting to see if they have my quick temper and need to fight everything or Mr R’s super laid back nature.

“colorblind, and has basically the same views on gender I do. We were going through a bag of hand-me-down and new clothes and found a pink gamer onesie:“

My husband is color blind. When D2 was about 12 she chose a hot pink, neon bathing suit. A bunch f kids do were in our pool when her dad got home and looked out of the window. Yep, his color blindness made her suit look pinkish-beige and he thought she was topless. Colorblindness is hard to predict.

Interesting about the baby and gaming. S was working for one of the gamily groups, earning some $ with sponsors. His group loved that his S would climb in his lap while he played. Got loads of support for being a great dad and so on. No issue about G’son showing his face and even talking sometimes (or trying to).

@oregon101 oh Mr is prepared for those when baby is ready. This was for baby’s protection - not looking at the screen. My nephew climbs up into his dad’s lap and talks to the guild sometimes. They all know him.

ETA: Also told my dad our tentative name tonight. He’s been clinging to Rey but accepted Ren way better than I thought he would lol

Neat–REN!
did not know about the screen light but makes sense. S is making enough money to pay their $$$ rent so that is good. I see him more on line that in person.

The last contestant on American Idol on Sunday was a girl named Ren.

It seems a minute ago you were trying to conceive. Best wishes for a joyful delivery.

It won’t be long now. Seems you are as ready as you can be. Best wishes!!

Hi @romanigypsyeyes , just wanted to say (on this thread LOL) that I’m so glad to hear that you are in a room and not in the waiting area, and that baby’s heart rate is better. Sending best wishes your way. Hope you are all clear and back home soon.

@romanigypsyeyes Thinking of you! Hoping you are treated quickly and safely back home in short order.

@romanigypsyeyes sending healthy vibes to you and Baby Jedi, and continuing improvement for Mr. R.

It’s the flu. Some extra monitoring and once stabilized we’ll go home.

Not that having the flu is great, but in this instance it is and I’m so glad for you it’s only the flu!!!

Try to get some real rest and I hope you have chicken soup in the house!
