Romani Jr is on the way

Glad that you and baby are being well cared. Just an FYI, hate to even post this but it may help, some people have side effects of vomiting and diarrhea from the tamiflu. I don’t know if you would consider asking your MD if zofran would be safe for you and baby.

Wait – what?? You have flu? Why was I not informed? Did I miss this??

@emilybee. Just going to tell her to get chicken soup… Lol.

Anyway…get some rest so you and baby Jedi (I know they have a name but I still like it) will continue to get strong and fight the flu. Be well.

@romanigypsyeyes , Thank GOD (or the fates, or whomever :wink: ) you had your flu shot. That should keep you at least just feeling crappy rather than deathly ill.

I think most here would agree that we think of you as kind of one of our kids, so we are concerned for you but optimistic that you will be well taken care of-and you have made it far enough to have a viable baby and great outcome. We are pulling for you all !

@VeryHappy

I’ve been sick a few days but finally decided on ER this morning after my fever went over 102 and I couldn’t feel baby moving.

I was ironically caught up in all the covid stuff so they put me through the ringer like I had it. I detailed it on the coronavirus observation thread. Michigan had its first confirmed cases last night so it was just poor timing.

Even though I feel like crap it was an interesting experience.

I’m still in the ER waiting for ok from OB to be discharged.

It’s flu A.

Ah. I haven’t entered the covid-19 threads. I’ve been too busy washing my hands.

For some reason I thought you couldn’t get the same flu strain twice. Is that an urban legend?

Because I have h1n1, 2009, again lol. After having it in 2009.

I also thought you couldn’t get the same strain again. Two years ago my daughter had flu twice, but it was A and B.

Maybe it is like the measles and mumps. Most can only get once but super special people can get them again.

The flu shot “helps” against the common flu. Doesn’t mean you won’t get it. I had the flu shot like 2 months ago. 2 weeks ago I felt like I had the flu for a few days.

Hope you feel well and you and baby Jedi recover quickly.

Feel better, @romanigypsyeyes . Keep us posted!

Romani, I had a sinus infection in my third trimester with D3. They take a long time to clear up. My favorite spot was in the bathtub, which made me nicely buoyant and helped with breathing since I was upright.

Take care and rest as well as you can!

Odd that these days we consider having the flu to be a good thing. Take care of yourself and the baby.

I’m not going to lie. I still remember feeling like death when I got h1n1 in 2009. Especially now being immune compromised, I think I’d rather take my shot with COVID-19 if I had the choice. Especially if there was a chance of baby coming while I was still sick.

I managed to eat most of a footlong sub from Subway though after not eating anything since yesterday. Apparently 8th month of pregnancy calorie needs outweighs a silly flu virus lol.

@romanigypsyeyes
Rest and hydrate and take care of yourself!

Get better soon!!

Best wishes for you and baby - get better!

Feel better! I hope this is behind you quickly!

Thanks. I’m doing much better today. No fever at least, which for me is the most important part. I still feel miserable and haven’t left the couch but no fever.

Thank science for the flu shot and tamiflu. Definitely saved me from long term hospitalization if not worse.

Tamiflu can really help—it has made a HUGE difference for me the times I’ve taken it! So glad your fever is gone and you are better!

Warm Vernors … It’s great when your sick.
