Fun fact of the day: I attended an admitted student presentation today where they said SDSU received a record 116,000 applications this year. They did not say what the admission percentage would be.
Was it the Illinois one? My kid really wanted to go but couldnât. How was it?
We were in AZ. It was basically the same type of presentation weâve received on regular tours at other schools, but was nice to meet our oos rep, ask questions and see other kids from our area who were accepted.
When should we expect to hear back for Direct Admit Nursing?
Nursing decisions are posted with the rest of the decisions in Mid-March. Last year Nursing decisions started March 16.
I find this number shocking. is it for 1st time- first year, or all transfers + graduate school?
It was a verbal comment as part of an intro speech to the kids congratulating them on beating the odds; they didnât have a slide or anything so I am not sure. Not exactly âofficial,â but I found it surprising as well.
SDSU has 111,960 total applicants last year 2023 which included Freshman, Transfers and Graduate students so most likely all are included in that number.
Just heard back today for Direct Nursing at SDSU. D24 got accepted!
D24 accepted into Pre-Nursing (checked app status 3/4 and surprised/delighted to find it was updated to accepted)
Non-CA resident (OOS)
UW GPA: 4.0
CSU GPA: 4.29
Congratulations to both students.
Nice to see SDSU is starting earlier with Nursing admits this year. ![]()
Do you think this is just Nursing or is today the main rollout day?
I found over the many years that I followed SDSU admissions, there is no specific timeline they adhere to for their decisions. Last year, Nursing heard with the main admit wave in March. Previous years, Nursing heard first followed by the main wave a few days to a week later. It is always a guessing game.
The OOS status may have helped too. Other majorâs OOS students got admitted months earlier than in-state students.
In state?
Yes in state not local.
This is very interesting to me because I thought all schools released accepted/rejected/waitlist at the same time (besides the early trickle)⊠so basically if you donât hear from them itâs a no, but you donât find out until the end? Wow! That seems cruel. These kids read all these other students are getting in so they assume they arenât⊠but donât REALLY know for another 2 weeksâŠyikes.
The CSUâs tend to drag out their decisions so I always answer: No Decision means No Decision.
I agree it does add stress to the whole process.
I love the UCâs that post all decisions on the same day.
What day for UC decisions?
