hi !! scholastic is due in ~a month and i’m sure a lot of y’all are working on submissions. just putting this thread here if any of you wanna share your experiences w scholastic, or just any advice on what’s typically favored. thanks <3
The only advice I have is don’t wait until the deadline to upload your materials, IME the system tends to overload and crash.
Has the writing deadline be postponed to Dec 8th?
I’m in RAL East and it seems like it’s still Dec 5th for me. you can check on the portal though, scholastic just sent me an email about changing the deadlines to accommodate for entries
We are in midwest region. We have not received any email, just found that the writing deadline has been changed from Dec 1st to Dec 8th in the portal.
ah got it! it just changed for me too to dec 8th in east. i think they extended a lot of the deadlines recently, so you should be good because they sent me an email about it
After you uploaded your work and paid the fee, what else you need to do? I do not see there is a “Submit” button there
not entirely sure but from the looks of it you should be good if everything is paid and you selected “enter for judging.” for me the main problem is that everything is glitching… i really hope they extend the deadline again because i can’t pay anything and i’m super stressed out rn. lmk if anyone else has the same problem.
yea like I can’t see any of my submitted pieces and can’t submit anymore??
yup that happened to me too – everything literally just went bye bye, all my work T_T

i didn’t pay yet so i really hope they fix the issue – they said they’d change the deadlines again but it looks like RALs are still dec 8th on my end
I have not paid either. My works are all gone in the portal, and I am not sure whether I should re-upload or wait until they fix the issue.
How did you know that they would change the deadline again? You called them?
Once you paid, it means you are all set, right?
they sent an email to me saying “we have changed the deadlines in various regions to accommodate issues,” but i don’t think it happened for RAL. and same situation as you here – it’s not blank anymore for me but the payment is just really buggy.
The email that sent to you was from east RAL region, not from scholastic, right?
I think the software system was created by the scholastic, not each region.

For my region the error is fixed and I can view my works and edit them again
