<p>My daughter is torn between 2 schools. School A (not identifying them because she is still waiting to hear from one school and I don’t want to jinx her) has one of the best programs in the nation for the field she wants to go into, which is very competitive. It’s very well respected and has a high placement rate. School B has a good program for this field, but not one of the same caliber as School A. However School B is in a much more desirable location and offers many more social/cultural opportunities, better weather, etc. We all feel that while she would enjoy both schools, she would probably enjoy School B more. Do the career opportunities presented by School A outweigh the other advantages of School B?</p>
<p>sounds like 2008 all over again…seriously; my daughter had to make this same exact decision; against our better judgement, she chose school A…and has not been sorry with her decision…</p>
<p>this is a very personal decision; wait and see which one she prefers after she is admitted…</p>

<p>My opinion—as long as she “likes” both schools, you’re always better off with the better program. We’re not talking lifetime residence. It doesnt have to be her number one choice for location. The ultimate purpose is to prepare her for the rest of her life.</p>
<p>Almost all schools are fun enough to have 4 good years. I’d go with the better school.</p>
<p>If she thinks she can be happy at both schools, and carve her niche either place, I recommend school A.</p>
