This is the official discussion thread for Scripps College Class of 2029 applicants. Ask your questions and connect with fellow applicants.
Scripps has been inconsistent with its decision dates. Here’s the history from the last 5 years:
2024: Monday, March 18, between 5-5:30pm
2023: Friday, March 17th, between 5-5:30pm
2022: Friday, March 18th between 5-5:30pm
2021: Monday, March 22nd 5:14pm PST
2020: Tuesday, March 17th, 5:14pm EST
Summarizing this historical trend, they release RDs around March 17-22, usually around 5:14pm PST. The most common release days have been Friday (twice), Monday (twice), and Tuesday (once), and all but 2021 has been in the 3rd week of the month. In a different year (without fires), I predict that Scripps would release today, March 18th at 5:14pm. However, because they allowed more time for applicants to provide information, my best guess is that we’ll see decisions next week instead.
Keep in mind, too, that Scripps usually announces its RD release date on social media about 2-5 days before the actual release date (e.g., on 3/15/23, they posted on Instagram that decisions would be released 3/17; on 3/14/22, they announced on Twitter that decisions would be out on 3/18).
So, if anyone’s biting their fingernails, I’d just watch Instagram. Given that it’s already March 18th and they haven’t put out any news yet, my best guess is that it may be as late as next Monday, March 24th.
rejected! a bit sad about this one since I visited campus and spoke to an AO but it’s okay lol
D25 was accepted!! Super excited!!
D25 accepted, but no merit aid so will have to mark this one off the list.
Same here.
Update - she received her financial aid letter and it includes a 25k per year “Scripps College Grant” (not a loan and guaranteed for all four years assuming good academic standing). This is odd because we qualified for $0 need-based “financial aid” at other SLAC that are identical in price. However at all of the other schools she received strong merit aid offers. It seems Scripps is doing their “discounting” (which we know is what merit aid really is) in the financial aid letter instead? Curious if others have seen this?
