I realize due to privacy laws, Jesse’s parents probably weren’t notified by either school that their “christian” “gentle giant” was found to have been involved in an a sexual assault or at least be in non compliance with the school’s code of conduct. But, c’mon! Did they really have no idea of what he was really like, or did they just have their heads in the sand? Weren’t they suspicious why he was expelled from not one, but two colleges (and loses his football scholarship to boot)?

His dad is an alcoholic with a rap sheet of his own. There is also a CC involved in this education thing where he was a part-time student for a few years not that long ago. But, at this point he is 32 years old so I wouldn’t really expect parents to know much of anything. He seemed to spend time with his grandmother. She talked to the newspapers in the beginning before he ran off to Texas or maybe Mexico saying he was a good boy. Wrong.

The realtor stuff is really scary. I’ve never liked those photos and phone numbers and know someone who had an issue way back in the 90’s. Really, I’m very surprised they still do this.

There was also this which is kind of interesting because it was on September 16th which is days before we heard the name Jesse Matthew. Police knew. They have been putting this together for a very long time. Maybe that’s why he had so many traffic stops. He had a lot of traffic stops. But, they didn’t have his DNA until he was arrested in Texas. My theory.

I think they are conducting a phenomenal amount of tests. So. Many. Girls.

And, everything is sealed so we get to know nothing until Dec 4th unless somebody leaks. He did not appear in court this morning on the traffic charges and his lawyer is not requesting bond on the abduction charges. There are also sealed search warrants in the Cassandra Morton case. It’s a very, very long list.

So far, I haven’t seen anyone quoted who says they thought he was a serious danger to anyone. That’s not just his family. Its his friends and recent aquantainces too.

In the FBI bulletin from the 2005 case, they note that its possible that the person who perpetrated the rape would not be suspected at all by his friends or acquaintances. Most rapists don’t go around bragging about it, and certainly murderers don’t either.

Let’s see where it leads. I hope the DNA labs are honest and competent.

With all the intense scrutiny on Jesse Matthew, I hope that authorities do not forget that someone’s little girl is still missing. They need to find Hannah Graham. I saw that JM’s attorney, Jim Camblos, requested a continuance until December on the reckless driving and the abduction charges. If JM had anything to do with her disappearance, I hope they can get him to cooperate before December. Her family deserves some answers.

I live in VA and of course this remains at the top of the news. This evenings’ news showed they have 40 professional search and rescue people out on ATV’s and they are using drones provided by VA Tech to visually search private property with land owner’s consent. They are also using planes with some special sort of light technology. It has been described as the most intensive search in VA history.

As far as Randy Allen Taylor’s quest for new DNA tests…I’m pretty satisfied he is the responsible party involved in the disappearance of Alexis Murphy. They have her car and of course they have already done DNA profiles of everything in it and the tiny travel trailer that RAT lived in. Her blood and fingernails were found in his trailer. A fingernail only contains the owners DNA at the root which shows it was lost during violence. It would be possible for an expert to scan the DNA results from the car and see if Matthew’s DNA is present. I am not for the taxpayers paying to do all new tests. RAT was also the last person seen with Samantha Clarke, another unfound girl who lived in the area. The following article was written a year before the disappearance of Alexis Murphy:

So…TWO serial abductors, probable murderers operating in the same area during the same time period.

The reports of Matthew committing sexual assaults at both Liberty and CNU make me wonder if colleges will now take the issue more seriously. We know Liberty did report the first rape to the “real” police. The fact that CNU police have a document naming him in a rape but the local Newport News Police don’t have the report points to a big problem.

Osprey: It’s good to hear that the search for Hannah is still ongoing. I also live in VA and reports concerning the search for Hannah have dropped out of the news in my area. What we are hearing in our local news is more about Matthew and possible connections to other disappearances, and less about the continued search for Hannah Graham.

I agree that the CNU incident is disturbing. CNU is a public university. As such, CNU police have full police powers from the Commonwealth to report & press charges in the case of a felony, which rape is considered. I agree that the lack of jurisdictional coordination between CNU police & Newport News police is a problem, especially in this case.

The CNU victim declined to go forward with the real police. Also, there are other missing girls. Some of them have been missing for many, many years.

The news is going to cover the new developments. He was scheduled to appear in court yesterday so reporters were camped out at the courthouse. The Taylor tests were news because Taylor’s attorney made them news. The MH link was huge news and the MH parents did every national news show. Meanwhile, the search continues is about all there is to say beyond the drone stuff. Also, they are mostly searching in remote areas now so it’s not as though the press can go on a ride-a-long. I saw a clip of Chief Longo urging people to search property that was new but he’s said it before, too.

And, possible connections to other disappearances is a very big deal.

I’m afraid my take on it at this point is that they are assuming she is dead, and probably don’t want to offer him a deal in exchange for her whereabouts in hopes of finding her reasonably soon. Especially since they are now able to tie him to Morgan Harrington, and possibly others. I would figure that they are going through a lot of unsolved cases searching for DNA and connections to him. Maybe eventually they would offer him life in prison instead of the death penalty in exchange for information about the victims’ whereabouts and/or confession to clear cases. :(

Here you go. It was seized from a farm. I’m not speculating, btw. I’m remembering and said I think because I wasn’t sure. But there you go, a field on a farm. Sheesh!

“found on a farm” per some news reports. In that area, that could mean anything. We also don;t know how it was found. Agree some evidence would be lost or corrupted- eg, fingerprints. But there could be some material item that could be linked.
