Seen Any Good Movies Lately?

Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but I highly recommend The Remarkable Life of Ibelin. It’s a documentary on Netflix.

We watched Mountain Queen on Netflix earlier this week. A documentary about a Sherpa who was the first Nepali woman to successfully summit and return from Mt. Everest. Felt a combination of facination, sadness, and inspiration while watching. Some amazing scenery is a bonus to the story. FWIW happyH enjoyed as well.

She is a local to me and in a hiking club to which I belong! Though I have not yet met her.

Very cool! Hope you get to meet her one day.

Adding: I do hope she has been compensated by Netflix, sponsorships, etc. in an amount sufficient for her and her children to live comfortably. She is so deserving.

We just saw Gladiator 2. Well, it was fairly decent and entertaining. But, it absolutely pales in comparison to the original Gladiator. I’ll forget about this movie in two days, and the original one was haunting and unforgettable.

I’ve heard there’s some controversy about it but I enjoyed Bonhoeffer.

We watched My Old Ass (Amazon Prime) last night. It was slow moving and mellow, rather sweet. Scenery was interesting too.

I went to see Wicked this week with a friend. We went on a weekday afternoon and there were 10 people in the entire theater. I enjoyed it and thought the actors were quite accomplished. Also, Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel have cameos. I saw Wicked on Broadway with both of them the year it opened (2003). Looking forward to Part 2.

H and I put on Red One (Amazon) hoping for a light, fun holiday movie. We both thought it was pretty bad and turned it off after 40 minutes or so. Is that really the best Amazon can do with a big time cast and a $250 million budget?

I’m watching a movie called “Carry On” on Netflix. It’s OK, not outstanding. What I WILL say is that it’s probably not a good idea to watch it the day before you fly cross country. What was I thinking??

We are watching it right now, too!
(We aren’t traveling this week; but oldest son is.)

I want to see the greatest Christmas pageant ever, deciding if I should rent for $20 or buy for $25 (usually I’ll wait until it gets down to $5 of free).

We saw that in the theater last weekend. It was really sweet. H wanted to see it because his mom used to read it to the kids at school when she taught eons ago.

We paid $18 for the 2 of us!

We just finished watching Carry-On on Netflix. We liked it as it met our expectations.
