Worth it just for Quint’s monologue about the USS Indianapolis.
The documentary that was released this summer was very good - you might enjoy it! (Looping in @Bromfield2 and family )
(I watched it via Hulu, and it’s also on Disney+)
We watched The Penguin Lessons on Netflix last night – a sweet little movie both H and I enjoyed.
Fantastic Four - just ok. Not even close to as enjoyable as Superman. Just very bland and predictable. I know numerous scenes were cut out, including John Mallovich’s entire Red Ghost part, which I think was a mistake.
In preparation of Spinal Tap 2 coming out, we will be watching the original tonight. I’ve never seen it.
Freaky Friday2
I went in with zero expectations: I got the ticket as part of a meal deal, it was very hot outside and the theater was air conditioned. Much to my surprise, I laughed A LOT throughout the whole film.
lol I’ve seen it so many times!
Gift link about Kpop Demon Hunters. We have not watched it yet.
I have not been to a movie theater in a very long time. Not crazy about the productions these days but I am looking forward to the “The Roses” coming out, or is out now. I never saw the one with Michael Douglas and it’s not streaming free anywhere I can find, but would like to see that one as well. I will have to check out Freaky Friday, not sure hubby would care for it but he’ll go just to keep me company.
I’m rewatching Bring It On, having recently read a Washington Post style article about the movie celebrating its 25 Anniversary. It’s not only one of my top two guilty pleasures, it’s in my top 10 favorites for, I guess,25 years. But before reading the article I didn’t realize its influence on society.

That’s so funny. I had never seen it until last month. I guess because of the anniversary it was showing on Sling so I watched it. I’ve wanted to for forever. I love cheerleading competitions!
I love cheer competitions, too!
Just watched KPOP Demon Hunters with my D’s family. Thoroughly enjoyed the movie and loved the music. I think GD6 knew the words to every song and enthusiastically sang along.
I’m looking forward to spinal tap, downton Abbey and the long walk (based on one if my favorite Stephen king short stories).
Did you see that they are having a special showing of The Long Walk in a theater where they have replaced the seats with treadmills? If you stop walking you get escorted out of the theater and don’t get to see the rest of the movie.
Weapons
No thank you!
Loved it!
I watched The Thursday Murder Club on Netflix, which was released last week.
H and I had listened to the audiobook on a long trip, which we enjoyed.
Like is often the case, the movie had to cut out lots of the book. I would have preferred a miniseries, but did enjoy seeing Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie bring the characters to life.
I didn’t read the book, but we were not impressed with the movie. Just felt too “light” for such a great cast.
