Congratulations on the acceptance to RIT! That’s another great school!
Out of curiosity, what were your preferred majors when you applied and what are they now?
Congratulations on the acceptance to RIT! That’s another great school!
Out of curiosity, what were your preferred majors when you applied and what are they now?
when I applied:
mechanical engineering, biotechnology/molecular biosci, neuroscience, CS
now:
mechanical engineering, global public health, neuroscience, biotech/molecular biosci, CS…
*if a school doesn’t offer one I go for the next best thing (closest) or skip that major entirely in the selection. that’s why I have 5 different distinct options :')
Also, over the Holiday Break, I sent in an application to Columbia. Am I going to get in? Who knows!^ But I thought I posted this earlier, but clearly didn’t. I applied to their Fu Foundation SEAS which…is a long shot.
^Probably not…!
Thanks for the update! You always miss the shots you don’t take. Since you have acceptances to schools that you like and that work for your family, any other acceptances from here on out is icing on the cake.
Wow, this is the second cake analogy I’ve heard today on this site! The first was from MYOS…and now you!
Great minds, and all that…
I start my new schedule tomorrow! I’m…excited and nervous to say the least! I’ll update you guys, I promise!
And I won’t have a lunch period…!!
I’m very interested (and honestly, concerned) about this since your original schedule had no lunch and several people raised concerns about this and you said,
and then had lunch added. Looking forward to hearing about the latest developments.
I didn’t know if I conveyed in the way I wrote it didn’t show a slight bit of fear BUT I’m definitely worried.
I mention this in a lot of random places on my thread(s) that my intent is not to worry people about me at all - I don’t like concerning people because then it FORCES me to do something about it even if it’s, say, out of my control.
I still have one break now…it’s my period 1 off. I do still have a period 3 Resource Room, but apparently no one here coined it as a break.
Period 1: senior privilege
Period 2: English 12
Period 3: Resource Room 11-12
Period 4: College Spanish 5
Period 5: Marketing & Advertising
Period 6: Participation in Government
Period 7: Physics
Period 8 (A-day): Phys. Ed 11-12
Period 8 (B-day): Physics Lab
Period 9: Introductory Calculus
Seniors are SUPPOSED to take six classes, I was in five last semester and have to fulfill my six now. Resource Room did not count as a class, and it won’t ever be considered one.
From periods 4-9, I will have no break to recharge my energy.
Am I nervous? Slightly.
These Sunday Scaries are really scaring me…
I’m sorry if the expression of my concern makes you feel forced to do something about it. That was not my intent, and I do not want you to feel any added stress whatsoever.
In reviewing your schedule, I’m happy to see that you will have P.E. on your “A” days, as phys ed should be a great way to have a break from more academic thinking and to use other parts of your brain and to get a physical release. I’m hoping that your teachers in the middle of the day will also be understanding of you having lunch while in class.
Are the six classes a general expectation, or are they a requirement?
Anyway, I do not want you to feel any Sunday Scaries or any day scaries. Wishing you a Super Sunday, Marvelous Monday, Terrific Tuesday, Wonderful Wednesday, Tremendous Thursday, Fabulous Friday, and Splendid Saturday!
It’s something…whether it’ll be enough or not, I’ll see. I remember when I got Marketing substituted into my schedule my GC said if I really just NEED a break I can ask her to drop it.
hopefully.
Thanks, I’ll (try) to have a marvelous Monday :0)
Okay, I’m back from school now and here is my report:
FIrst off, OH MY GOODNESS I was so hungry. I chose NOT to pack a lunch today because I didn’t want to inconvenience any teachers who have a policy outside of letting you eat food in their classes.
I just ate a half of a waffle and some plantain chips and I’m fine now.
I also had a headache provoked by my glasses because I decided to push them into my nose and now that really hurts.
I felt like I was losing energy during my double period Physics exam and constantly felt myself wanting to rest. I have to make sure if she assigns seats I get my preferential seating accommodation. Same with Gov.
Anyways, I like marketing – the teacher is super sweet, a lot of the people in my class are freshman who are taking this to start a business sequence for electives. We also did an interest inventory and then reviewed the Syllabus. I have to make sure if we get assigned seats I get my preferential seating accommodation. Same with Gov. Why are there TESTS in an ELECTIVE [marketing]???
I cannot really speak on Gov because my teacher was absent but our co teacher was the same one as in Economics and he went over the Syllabus and told us some differences between Econ+Gov and yeah.
So has my Monday been marvelous? Sadly…no.
I need to see how I feel for the rest of the week because right now I feel drained >:(
Thanks for reporting.
Glad Marketing is fun
I bet you had low sugar for half the day …
Definitely pack a lunch plus a gogurt and a gogosqueez pouch in addition to the plantain chips!
what does low sugar mean?
not allowed to have gogursqueez…but okay! Thanks!
Why? Gogurt is just yoghurt in a pouch, and gogosqueez is just applesauce in a pouch. Among the healthiest snacks. Calcium and vitamin. No need for a fridge so can keep in your backpack till you need one. And no mess. (I swear, I have no shares in whatever company makes those but they’re a really good combination of healthy&practical).
Low blood sugar
Feeling light-headed, thirsty, weak on the legs, hard to concentrate…
This sounds like what happened to me today heh o-o
Not really sure. I just don’t want to make a mess and inconvenience anyone while eating in a class and so what if I risk my health?-like I’ll give it a week or so before deciding if I actually want to.
I also don’t really like fruits…but I’ll ask my Marketing teacher if I can eat in her class, she gives off the nice vibe that she would…but I don’t want to assume.
It’s smart not to assume. Once you’ve made up your mind, do ask
Also, yes your health matters.
Finally… these pouches’genius is that you don’t make a mess. Just put the top in your mouth and press the pouch. No crinkly paper, no spoon. Can be done in between classes too.
You could see with your parents if they’d be okay with the organic/no sugar added version, then you try one and see.
That really would weird me out…heh it’s irrational but I don’t want to push yogurt into my mouth and have people looking at me. I’m also just a generally messy eater (no clue why) and seem to always make some mess.
Ah!
Sometimes, if you don’t eat this can cause a headache. You really need to eat. How about things like string cheese? But first…ask the teacher(s) if it’s ok to eat.
At my school, there was no food allowed in the classrooms at all…after allergy concerns became prevalent. So…don’t assume…ask.
I’m sorry to hear it wasn’t a marvelous Monday. Hoping tomorrow is a terrific Tuesday!
