Senior Year Schedule & Intro (w/updates)

Update: 7th period when I have physics I ate my chocolate brownie banana bread muffin (it might sound gross but it actually tastes so good!!)

I chomp on string cheese. I don’t peel it…heh that’s just a me thing! :')

I got a 74 on this test! I wonder if I was more nourished if I would have performed slightly better…? Guess we’ll never know…

I mean…Tuesday was more marvelous than Monday.., we did a blind taste test of Jarritos in Spanish class and I think that was the highlight of my day…

I shall ask them :') sorry I didn’t reply to this sooner…

My kids took compact protein filled heavy snacks when they had no lunch period, plus something for after school because they went right to practices or games, protein bars, cheese, nuts, heck I keep a bowl of hard boiled eggs in my fridge. Beef jerky? Turkey roll ups? Carbs are fine but don’t last.

It sounds delicious! I’ve been known to make banana bread with extra chocolate chips, and this sounds like a chocolatier version of it!

So glad to hear that the week is heading in the right direction. Maybe tomorrow will be really wonderful!

Yes to the protein (and also, fiber!) filled snacks, but just want to put a caution in for any foods that contain erythritol. Lots of protein bars will boast about their lack of sugars but then indicate alcohol sugars (erythritol being one of the most well known). Many people, however, do not tolerate alcohol sugars well. I used to do a protein bar for when I needed a snack and it took me too long to realize why I always had stomachaches afterwards. Of course, your mileage may vary (ymmv).

Also, protein is a good filler, but so is fiber. Too much protein without enough fiber can also lead to intestinal issues. So think about baby carrots, or cucumber sticks with hummus, or other ways to also have a good amount of fiber.

Out of all of these options: I could totally see protein bars, cheese, nuts, or boiled eggs working.
I’m not allowed to have beef jerky/turkey roll ups.

That’s scary…at least you know now.

Gosh, maybe I shouldn’t eat at all with all these risks. Like seriously?
That’s probably just my irrational anxiety talking…I hope.

Don’t stop eating. I was just trying to say to try and have some well-balanced meals. Too much of anything isn’t good.

I know–it was, in fact, my irrational anxiety talking.

Sorry for the concern.

I found my class to eat in…Physics!
My teacher doesn’t care as long as I don’t go to a lab table and eat. So I can eat while doing practice problems or taking notes

BTW to mention a younger thread but with me discussing this:

I got retested in OT maybe like ~2 weeks ago and the results of that seem like I need the services again. :]
I read the results and it definitely uses a lot of high-level professional language but it just says a lot that I’m below average

Apparently next week I have a sCSE (subCommittee on Special Ed) meeting to go over it…??? So, we’ll see…but I just wanted to provide an update.

Well, if holding rulers or pencils is an OT-related problem, I can see why eating some things would be worrisome :hugs:

Hehe, it’s nearly impossible for me to open chips without awkwardly opening them in weird positions, so yes, that makes sense-

…wait how??

Well, holding things and bringing them to your mouth, not to mention a pencil and a fork kinda require the same dexterity, so I can see why you’d worry about messes when eating in class.

This should help you stay away from chips or storing them in receptacles with easy-to-open lids? :crossed_fingers:

got deferred from stonybrook :[ it’s ok i’m okay

yeah, I typically use locks&locks to help my finger strength with opening containers. worth the investment.

am I okay with the deferral? TBH I mean I’m happy to have at least 2 good options and that I have yet to be rejected but I feel so anxious and horrible because I went to a robotics competition today and my team kept asking me to reset the field but my anxiety was high and I decided to hide under a lab desk :]

rejected from clemson  applied to engineering and i’m out of state

I’m sorry to hear about the rejection from Clemson, but I know that some people think it’s good to get a rejection because it shows that you’ve reached. And I know that Clemson has gotten super popular (and thus, much more selective) over the last couple of years.

Is this how things look right now?

  • U. at Buffalo: Accepted to college of Engineering/Applied Sciences
  • Rochester Institute of Technology: Accepted for Biotechnology & Molecular Bioscience
  • Binghamton - Deferral
  • Stony Brook - Deferral
  • Clemson - Rejection

And don’t forget, you only need one acceptance (and you have more than one) and it’s an acceptance into the major of your choice at a great school with an affordable price. You’ve already won! Now you’re just seeing how everything else plays out.

I can’t really live under a lie anymore but fun fact!!! I changed my RIT application to ED2 because my parents believed that because they kept sending me emails on how I should change it and they believed that potentially I would not only get in but that I’d get in with a nice merit scholarship. I did.
But the deposit deadline was Feb. 15th, I withdrew from RIT 2 days ago. So, yes, I only have one option right now and am holding out hope on Binghamton and/or Stony Brook even though Buffalo is better than the both.
So why is this a lie? Because I applied for ED to two schools [RIT & Northeastern]. Now, of course, I’ve gotten a lot of reprimanding from MYOS, I don’t want to hear it anymore about how wrong it is and all the problems associated with it, I KNOW. I did not want to.

Yep. Rejection is redirection. <3

BTW – Northeastern ED2 came out the day after Clemson but I was MIA for personal reasons. Rejected from there as well.

I hope the fact that you posted today means that things improved in your personal life during the intervening time. Continuing to wish you the best.

Kind of, not completely yet. I’m still waiting to sort some things out and I need to talk to some people about the situation…but I’m not going to talk to people on here, but like…people in my support circle. It might be a while until I recover…

Thanks, I really appreciate this.

Summary as of 2/24/25:

  • U. at Buffalo: Accepted to the College of Engineering/Applied Sciences
  • Rochester Institute of Technology: Accepted for Biotechnology & Molecular Bioscience but withdrawn.
  • Binghamton - Deferral
  • Stony Brook - Deferral
  • Clemson - Rejection
  • Northeastern - Rejection

Everything outstanding is pretty much now just reaches (NYU, Columbia, Wellesley, NC State, GWU) two hopeful safeties (CUNY Baruch & CUNY Hunter), and two matches (Binghamton, Stony Brook).
Can’t wait to see how this pans out!

So…what made you pull out of RIT? You changed to ED2 which is supposed to be a binding acceptance…if you get one, which you did. And you got a nice merit award too…so…what was the problem?
