Uh oh, you don’t like Dollhouse and you aren’t interested in Continuum. You probably don’t like the Mentalist or NCIS either, and if that’s so…you’re going off my favorite person list. Some things, you just can’t redeem yourself from.

I loved the Dollhouse. Wasn’t thrilled with the ending, though.

Yeah, me neither, samurai…especially since they ended the series so soon. They could have gone on for another decade.

I just finished first episode of Lie to Me. Liked it. My family is watching the 4th season of Breaking Bad, and I probably won’t get close enough to Roku until they are done!

I agree that show could have gone on way longer. I have liked anything Elisha Dushku has been in, basically.

A friend suggested King & Maxwell, and we are really enjoying it. It has the same vibe as “Suits” and “White Collar” and other recent detective drama (with some comedy) shows.

It’s available on our Comcast On-Demand, and we can fast forward through commercials.

We are loving House of Cards. Caught a couple of new Law and Order UK episodes and saw a premier for Broadchurch. Looks like David Tennant is in it, which is reason enough to watch. Has anybody watched this series?

^“House of Cards” is a superb show, as is another Netflix original – “Orange is the New Black.” The folks at Netflix sure know how to make 'em

But when you watch the whole season in a couple weeks- then what?

Then I watch something else

I can always find something to watch on Netflix. I’m working my way through all the seasons of West Wing and my D and I are watching the old SNL episodes. I just got the new Chromecast gadget so I can watch Netflix on my television. I will be watching even more Netflix now.

Montegut, I’ve been watching Broadchurch. It’s two episodes in on BBCAmerica, and so far I like it, although I don’t think it’s as good as, say, Luther or The Fall. David Tennant is enjoyable to watch (and listen to), but I don’t think as much of his acting as I do of Idris Elba’s or Gillian Anderson’s.

House of Cards was brilliant. I binge watched that in spring on Netflix.

I can’t wait for the second season.

For a completely different kind of show, Call the Midwife is also spectacular.

No particular order!

1. Fringe
2. Southland
3. The Americans
4. Mad Men
5. Breaking Bad
6. Arrested Development
**7. Community/B
8. Seinfeld
9. Curb Your Enthusiasm
10. Big Bang Theory (early seasons)

Re House of Cards, which version do people prefer? I started watching the Kevin Spacey version, but was distracted, so it didn’t “take.” I’m thinking of going back to it, since I just finished Firefly and Serenity, and have also polished off 24, Homeland, Orange is the New Black, Top of the Lake, and Mad Men.

I started to watch The Sopranos on dvd a few years ago, and just did not like it. I also watched the first couple of episodes of Breaking Bad and was turned off. (Heresy, I know.) S is always telling me that I need to persist with Breaking Bad, and he raves about House of Cards. (I also didn’t like Seinfeld, hardly ever watched it, and wasn’t captured by Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Maybe there is something wrong with me. Not as bad as my mother, who hated the original Star Wars, something that I found incomprehensible.)

I started watching the BBS one, first, and that didn’t take for me. Then I watched the Kevin Spacey one. It is the kind of show you cannot be doing something else while watching. You will miss stuff.

I am not a fan of Breaking Bad, even though whole family is engrossed.

Love Homeland.

I think that is my problem. I am almost always doing something like cooking, making or packing truffles/caramels, or using the treatmill when I’m watching these things.

I did recently pick up a pair of cheap speakers for my laptop, so now at least I can reliably HEAR the shows. :)

Treadmill okay, but no smartphone checking or cooking. ;)

Consolation, I did the same thing with Breaking Bad…after nearly booting (as the kids would say) during one of the first 3 episodes, I deleted it from my queue. The cultural conversation about it drove me back and I’m glad I went, despite the persistent sense dread in my gut. It’s much, much better than the Sopranos. Truly original.

I’ve tried Breaking Bad a few times but can’t get into it, I gave it 5 or so episodes. One day when I’m really bored I may try again.

Game of Thrones took me about 3 episodes to get into, with a few months break between the first and the second effort, and now I love it.

Someone probably mentioned this one: Shameless. It’s an excellent series. To say it’s about a highly dysfunctional family in Chicago only touches the surface. William H. Macy is the head of the family–he’s an excellent actor and is perfect for this role.
