There is a new series on Showtime now worth checking out - Ray Donovan. I love it even though I cringe at the wife’s “Boston” accent. Sadly, its only 8 episodes. I binged on House of Cards and will watch Orange is the New Black soon.

For current shows I love

Mad Men
Nurse Jackie
Good Wife
Scandal
Nashville
The Newsroom
Homeland

I really miss Friday Night Lights, Medium, The Sopranos and 24.

Ray Donovan has 12 episodes, TrixieAnn. It’s been renewed for another season in 2014. It’s an interesting show with a very good cast. I like the way that each week tells a bit more of the backstory. Paula Malcolmson who plays Abby, is from Northern Ireland so it’s an interesting accent she has on the show. I think that may be why it’s not a good Boston accent.

Consolation - We started with the new “House of Cards”. I like that one better (it’s especially fun if you’ve visited DC and know the sites). Gut we are watching the old one a bit at a time.

I just binge-watched the first four episodes of Orange is the New Black and I love it. Would I have preferred having it parceled out one episode per week, with the same kind of anticipation and excitement that attends awaiting the next Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones? Maybe. But it’s the potato chip problem–hard to resist watching a bunch at a time when they’re all there just waiting for you–and Netflix so kindly asks if you’d like to watch the next one as each one ends. In any case, I highly recommend the series.

Orange is the New Black, Homeland, Walking Dead, The Killing -AMC, American Horror Story, Downton Abbey, The Following, Mod Family, Mad Men and need to start watching Breaking Bad!!!

I started watching Alphas last night, largely because it stars David Straithairn, an actor I love. I’m not wholly convinced, though. Anyone else watched it?

OK…checked in on this thread back in May - and tried out Breaking Bad. Wow. I am NOT a binge watcher or even a big TV watcher and I became quickly addicted. So now we’re all caught up and I can’t wait for the new episodes on Sunday. Walt is evil…but I do like Jesse…major faults and all.
Will try Orange.
And can’t wait for Homeland and House of Cards to start up. Love them both!

Consolation, I watched Alphas all the way through, and enjoyed it, mostly, although some of the Alpha “abilities” are kind of ridiculous. But the show has been cancelled, and Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger. I hate when that happens…

Amazon Prime video has one of my alltime favorites: Dead Like Me. I’m sure it’s been mentioned, but it’s the story of an 18 year old, aimless girl who gets killed and becomes a “grim reaper” in the group of reapers responsible for removing souls from “external” deaths, meaning anything from murder to accident. The heroine, George aka toilet seat girl, learns about life after her death. It’s extremely well written, with lots of humor, a fair number of modestly gruesome moments - often quite clever - and lots of insight into the human condition. Also notably stars Mandy Patinkin as Rube, the boss of this reaper group.

I am currently watching Deadwood, about midway through first season, pretty complex characters even though compared to how often they show the boobies, there is not a lot of male eye candy, although Tim Olyphant with the gimlet stare does take his shirt off occasionaly- everyone else I hope just leaves theirs on.;)

Im also watching Burn Notice. Saw some of it when it was on tv originally. The acting/ lines sometimes leaves something to be desired, especially compared to Deadwood/ Justified, but ** lots of explosions**, a female lead who can more than handle herself and Sharon Gless along with fun guest stars like Patton Oswalt & Jere Burns.
Its cartoony violence which I can take better than gooshy violence.

Love being able to binge watch! Just started Mi5 and really enjoying it - fast paced, interesting characters and a tad of British humor. Loved Orange is New Black and happy to hear another season underway. Waiting for Homeland to start. Watching Breaking Bad which we had binge watched until this season - a much better way to go!
