Can’t find it. I use this site to check on abailabilty, but it’s not always totally accurate: [Can I Stream. It?: Search Netflix, Hulu, Google Play, iTunes, and more, for movies to stream instantly, rent, and buy.](http://www.canistream.it/)

Just watched Doc Martin. Enjoyable, but it’s interesting how formulaic it has become to cast leads with Asperger-like syndromes: Monk, Sherlock to name two.

Re Law & Order UK: found out I can watch it Weds at 9 on BBC, but old episodes not available to stream or on demand.

Which reminded me to check season’s premiere of SUV. They left Olivia hanging on a cliff (figuratively). By reading about premiere 9-25, I discovered Hargitay is back for the season–contrary to speculation…

Adding to the list: FX’s The Bridge’s Sonya and SyFy’s Alphas’ Gary.*

Temperance Brennan on Bones.
I wish we could get the latest season of Doc Martin.

I finally found something interesting on TV - Modern Marvels on History Channel and Ancient Aliens on History Channel. I would not miss any real life events for TV though. These are just on, while I am doing somthing else or trying to fall asleep (but I think that they are earlier than my sleep time)

If you are a Law and Order fan, you will soon discover that they simply reuse plots from the Law and Order and adapt it for British situations on Law and Order:UK. It can be fun to watch the changes.

I have heard plenty of people talking about Last Tango in Halifax, but I had Foyle’s War on Masterpiece last night. I guess it is time I complain to my PBS station.

I’ve gotten some great ideas from this thread! So many things aren’t available on Netflix, but maybe someday they will be. I am trying out Huluplus, but it’s confusing to navigate and it seems like a season is available, then some disappear, or you discover that it’s not actually available…just doesn’t seem user friendly. Anyway…

for comedies…I haven’t seen these mentioned:
I liked “Better of Ted”, fans of Arrested Development would probably like it.
for an oldie but goodie, I love “The Dick Van Dyke Show”.
More recent…“the New Adventures of Old Christine” was good. I was just getting into it on local TV, but it seems to have gone off the air. I’ll be watching for it on Netflix.

" So many things aren’t available on Netflix"
-We have dropped Netflix awhile ago. Boorring, nothing. We watch stuff from You Tube. Yesterday reviewed our Disco favorites, I like the ones that have video, not just music. But again, watching is just a sleeping pill, no side effects. This is my primary use of TV, other than it is being on.

Old Adventures of Christine is on Lifetime, I believe.

One thing my son and I like with Law and Order UK is to watch for what American episode it’s based on. My son has IMDB on his phone, and immediately looks up the American episode to see who the actors were in that episode and we discuss whether we’ve seen that episode or not. It is really cool to do that.

My son also loves Law and Order UK because it has a lot of Dr. Who actors on it, and that’s why I think he’s going to love Broadchurch. Can’t wait for him to come home on fall break to watch it together.

Just bought the second season of Homeland, waiting for son’s return, so we can binge watch it.

Speaking of UK, anyone watch the return of Foyle’s War to PBS on Sundays? It’s kind of a reboot with Inspector Foyle going to work for MI-5 in post-war London as the Cold War gets going, rather than returning to his sleepy seaside town.

The whole series is excellent. Michael Kitchen as Foyle personifies the less is more school of acting.

We just started with 1st episode of “Elementary”, yet another Sherlock Holmes mystery series… set in NYC. Very interesting. It’s available via our Comcast On Demand.

Recently discovered the shows ‘Copper’ and ‘Hell on Wheels’ on Netflix. Absolutely love them. Copper is what the movie ‘Gangs of New York’ should have been, a deep look at the gritty mess that NYC was during the Civil War. The movie was just blood and more blood.

Hell on Wheels is full of great performances, particularly by Colm Meany (the Robber Baron) and Chris Heyerdahl (the Swede). And the history lesson is fascinating. One complaint; the rapper Common can’t act worth a darn.

I started Orange is the New Black this week. Wow - it’s good. I’m amazed that Netflix is signing up famous actors like Jason Biggs (and Kevin Spacey for House of Cards) for their online-only series. No commercials either. It’s a new world.

I’ve watched the first two episodes of Game of Thrones. It seems…cheesy? Some of it reminds me of the double features we used to see in afternoons as kids, including people in toga-type garb, dragon eggs, and bad special effects. I have to assume it gets a whole lot better, as I seem to be the only person on earth who is not a huge fan.

I just watched all 7 seasons of The Shield, an FX series from the early to mid 2000’s. I can’t stop thinking about it, it was a really, really good series. “Morally ambiguous” characters who I nonetheless cared about - sometimes loved and sometimes hated and often both, which was kind of uncomfortable. Great performances, writing, direction. I highly recommend it.
