Curious as to why you don’t care for Anna Gunn, Montegut? I think she’s a terrific actress.

I think I felt the same way about Connie Britton in FNL as Montegut feels about Anna Gunn. I could not stomach her in FNL. I couldn’t take one more “hay yall.”

Anna Gunn was Skylar, right? It’s a bad habit I have, associating actors with characters they play. I was not a big fan of Skylar. But I will give the series a chance. I really was looking forward to it.

Husband and I just watched the first episode of True Detective. Son is all caught up, so we’ll have to binge watch. OMG, I loved it. Such great characters. Too depressing for husband. He said he’ll only be able to do one episode a week.

We just watched the first season of Parks and Recreation. It was pretty funny - a lot like The Office. I also forgot that last summer we watched all of the series Heroes, and it was pretty good. I like Hayden Panettiere in Nashville and that gave us something to watch while Nashville was on break. We were quite obsessed with 24 for a while, years ago. I’m happy to see Jack is Back, starting in May. Only half the episodes of the old 24 seasons, but I’ll take it.

If you liked the first season of parks & rec, you will love subsequent seasons because P & R got exponentially better IMO.

I didnt see BB, but Anna Gunn also played the widow of the brother of Tim Olyphant in Deadwood, ( who he then married to give his nephew a father)
Love that Raylan.

Just finished Chuck on Netflix. Love all the sci fi (Star Wars, Star Trek, Quantum Leap…too many to list) references. Was so sad at the end. Started Leverage and am half-way through the series, love Eliot, Nate not so much. Both on netflix. I was soooo sad, heck still weepy with the end of Chuck.

threeofthree- thank you! I have been enjoying Blechley Circle and Island War. I also found Land Girls which is about the women who took over the farm work during WWII which is what my mother did in Canada. I also found Monarch of the Glen which shows beautiful scenery of Scotland and a gorgeous castle.

Our family enjoyed Bletchley Circle. The second season starts this spring. Season 1 is only three episodes, solving one case. I’ve read season 2 is two two-part episodes.

I’ve watched nine episodes of this season’s Blue Bloods in the last two days. I plan to continue my marathon today. Oh my gosh, it’s good.

I may have to check out FNL, after reading everyone’s reviews. My current faves are Justified and Longmire. And I plan on watching BB during workouts.

We just finished season 2 and are enjoying it. I still rank BB much higher, though. I am watching it again during my workouts, too, because I don’t think H would like it if I started watching FNL and getting ahead of him; it’s one of the things we do together (although I think I admitted cheating on one episode of BB and watching it without him, and not telling).

I finished The Tudors on Netflix. I know, it’s drama, but I really learned so much and want to learn even more about this period. Now I’m starting Borgia. OMG, even worse characters. I work with a gentleman who has a masters in medieval religious history, and we have become great friends because of the interest I’ve developed because of these two series.

threeofthree- I don’t know if you watch Downton Abbey but the actress who plays Anna played Angelique on Island at War.
Ooh- I’m planning on starting The Borgias this week. Can’t wait.

Onward, are the series you mentioned, the Scotland one and the women on the farm, on Netflix, or are you buying/renting the DVDs? I am very interested in the Scotland series, just for the scenery. And the women on the farm sounds very interesting, too. Thanks for any info!

Netflix. I would love to go to Scotland. The castle on this series is fantastic looking.

I really enjoyed the Tudors and the Borgias, extreme violence and all. You might also like The White Queen and Vikings. A little teeny-bopperish but still decent is Reign.

<a href=“Reign (TV series) - Wikipedia”>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reign_(2013_TV_series)</a></p>

<a href=“The White Queen (TV series) - Wikipedia”>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_White_Queen_(TV_series)</a></p>

<a href=“Viking (disambiguation) - Wikipedia”>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vikings_tv</a></p>

OhMomof2, I thought I was the only one watching Reign. I managed to make my H watch last week’s episode. He was intrigued when Nostradamus was introduced as the queen’s alleged lover and the ghost child turned out to be the queen’s daughter with her real lover Delacroix.

Reign! Reign is my new favorite show! I was not going to mention it figuring it was not grown up enough for the parent cafe. :stuck_out_tongue: I love that show. I don’t even know why, it IS teeny-bopperish even for someone my age, but I’m hooked. We binge watched the whole series up to the current season in one sitting and now that we are caught up I hate having to wait! My fiance watches it with me, too, he is the one that found it for me.

I have one season left to be caught up with The Paradise, and my fiance woke me up this morning with, “Good morning! Happy Valentines Day! Guess what? The Paradise was canceled!” Happy V-Day to you, too, meanie. :frowning: Way to ruin my morning. I will have to watch lots of Call The Midwife episodes in between episodes of The Paradise to make this last season last longer…

I rolled my eyes at Reign a lot the first few episodes but at this point the story has developed nicely, I think. I hope it stays around. Of course it kind of stinks knowing what eventually happens to Mary, Queen of Scots but oh well :)

I rolled my eyes at the White Queen a lot too at the start but came to really enjoy it, even started the books (I hadn’t heard of Philippa Gregory before, where have I been?)

The new season of House of Cards is out today.
How romantic.

Only six minutes Really?
I have coffee breaks longer than that.
Oh.
;)

I need to watch White Queen. Sounds like Reign is one for me, too! Thanks for the heads up!
