We’ve been watching Orphan Black - it’s about cloning and one woman plays all the clones. She’s very good. It started a bit slow, but we are now totally addicted. DH was given Season One on DVD and Season Two is scheduled to be on TV somewhere in the spring.

Scandal is good, but HoC is luscious. Liked Revenge, but it was getting slow and the hiatus drained some interest. Started House of Lies- still getting into it.

SoJersey, if you like The Hour, look into BBC State of Play, with Bill Nighy.

Initially I thought True Detective was horrible. After watching a few episodes, I think it is fantastic.

Looking forward- after finishing house of cards season 2- I did start re -watching season 1 - most enjoyable

I loved Scandal but at this point I just want to slap Olivia and tell her to stop. Her love interest (I’m trying to avoid spoilers for anyone who hasn’t watched) is not even remotely appealing to me.

Tier 1: The Sopranos, The Wire, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones
Tier 2: Downton Abbey, House of Cards
Tier 3: Damages,The Good Wife, Homeland

I just started watching True Detective and made myself get through the first couple of episodes. Everyone kept telling McConaughey’s character to shut up and that is all I want too. His pontificating is just annoying. Reminds me of his Oscar speech.

No one is watching Justified?
My first tier is probably Justified, Parks & Rec,Sherlock
2nd tier, Firefly, Vikings, Scandal, House of Cards
And for comedy, New Girl, Brooklyn 99, Alpha House.

Season Two starts April 19. =D>

(I need to watch Season One again - before Season Two starts.)

@ignatius I see we have similar tastes in TV as well as books.

It’s not the kind of high narrative achievement represented by Breaking Bad or House of Cards, and it totally lacks anything like Khaleesi, but I have now watched The Goldbergs four times, and each time it has been really well written, well acted, sweet, and funny. There is absolutely nothing novel or appealing about the concept – it’s a completely conventional family sitcom, with the only twist being that it’s the 1980s and there’s a lot of local color from the Philadelphia suburbs of the time. Even the name is dumb (as was its original name, "How The F*** Am I Normal?,"which implies an edginess the show utterly lacks). But its execution is perfect.

Apart from that, the cute thing about this show is that the creator, who corresponds to the cinema-crazed youngest child in the family, spent most of his youth videotaping his family and friends, and he seems to have saved all of it. Every episode has ended with a snippet of video of the real people who inspired that week’s story, enough to convince you that there’s something honest at the heart of it.

I can’t bring myself to watch House of Cards–from what I hear everyone (although great actors) play either evil or idiotic. I prefer my tv politicians to be West Wingy–hopeful and diligent if not always successful.

YES! Justified is my new favorite. I can’t wait for Tuesdays…

Well, count me as one viewer who loves both The West Wing and Scandal. Although I admit I love TWW more. :)

Am I the only one who has watched and really like The Killing? I find the two lead actors fascinating.

There is no doubt that watching shows on Netflix or free tv project without advertising makes a big difference in my level of enjoyment, as does being able to binge-watch as opposed to waiting and waiting and waiting for the next episode.

Love The Killing. True Detective reminds me a bit of The Killing but I like the leads in The Killing much better. They can act circles around McConaughey and Harrelson.

The Killing was by far our favorite show. My fiance downloaded True Detective for us to watch because he heard people who liked The Killing would like it, but I haven’t tried it yet. My thing is I don’t normally like crime shows, and I really, really don’t like to watch excessively violent or upsetting material. The Killing had its moments-- especially in the last season, which I almost had to stop watching a couple of times-- but that wasn’t the point of the show and it was so story driven and I loved that they stretch one mystery through the whole season and not another case every episode. We love, love, love The Killing. I really hope there will be more and more even if they keep canceling it… I can’t imagine how this show isn’t a hit! I can only guess people who like crime shows usually dont have the attention span to watch one that stretches one case out so long like this since most crime shows don’t seem to do that…

We miss Awake, by the way, a lot. We assumed that show required more attention than the average viewer could cope with as well.

JHS: based on your recommendation, I went back and watched a few episodes of The Goldberg’s and had quite a few lol moments. As you said, sweet, funny and well acted. I probably won’t watch it on a weekly basis but I will watch more for sure, especially when I need a good laugh.

I started watching Intelligence. It’s about a former military guy who has a chip implanted in his brain so he can interface with the internet as if he were a machine. Parts of the story are pretty hokie but if you approach it knowing its a bit detached from reality, it’s not too bad of a show for network TV.

You have an interesting avatar razorsharp. Are you posting from Alcatraz or some fancy white collar country club prison?

For those with cable, HBO is airing a Deadwood marathon next weekend to celebrate the 10th anniversary.
I bought the DVD set.
<a href=“HBO 'Deadwood' Marathon Airing In Time For 10th Anniversary”>'AGT' winner Terry Fator talks divorce, hot new wife on 'Oprah:WATN?';
Especially if you like Justified, it is a must see.
House of Cards fans will get to see Molly Parker, in a slightly different role.

Also Keith Carradine.
