Sharing, Venting, Supporting Class of 2018

Sorry…didn’t finish my post…

Apparently those who were waitlisted got an email and those who were in got calls. Maybe they aren’t done yet but I would think with only admitting 20 students they would just make the calls within a day or two instead of stringing it out. On the other hand, they have not been the most organized of the schools so anything can happen. Hoping for the best for all of you…

Thanks! We are assuming it is a no at this point. If it’s something else, we can be pleasantly surprised.

S was videotaped. No word though.

My D was videotaped. No word here either.
My D’s phone broke on Wednesday! Really good timing. New phone not coming until Monday. This could totally freak me out but I am just going to let it be.
D is in “Crazy for You” right now and there is a great line in the scene where Bobby Child and Bella Zangler are drinking their sorrows away. They are dressed identically and Zangler says:
“I am beside myself!”
This makes me crack up every time!!
and later Bobby adds
“You’re depressed? I am not myself today!”
This all seems very fitting with the “waiting for college results” mindset. Keeps cracking me up. ;-)

Is anyone else obsessed with checking for status changes on the Fordham site…make…me…stop…

hahaha I just got done doing that about 5 seconds ago…word is if you haven’t heard by now it’s a no…

Its says on the sight rolling admission for performance majors up to April 1, so there is hope:) fading hope…but hope:)

Dramamom, I really feel for you with that phone situation - aaargh!

Phone arrived today!! My husband called yesterday to check after we ordered Wed eve and they said Monday. Then it showed up today. Now lets hope its needed for something besides taking selfies and snapchatting.

BU portal link is down and is being updated…maybe we will hear earlier than tomorrow ?

@deamer18, My D had similar feelings to your son, that auditioned admit feels like validation to them even though we know with the wisdom of age that they don’t need that external validation to pursue their dreams. As she looked at her pile of lovely acceptances with merit to BA schools she cried and said she would have traded all of those for a couple more auditioned acceptances (Her Sarah Lawrence acceptance arrived the same day as her Fordham rejection and it sent her over the edge). In the end she had her one auditioned BFA admit and wound up turning it down. They are very brave and will follow their own paths.

Good luck to all performing and waiting!

I hope BU is not alphabetical! We are an “S.”

Lol. SUNY must not be. Or muhlenberg. We are F and have heard nothing. Sigh.

Great thoughts…thanks. In my heart I know it will all be OK. I just don’t like watching any of my kids struggle with rejection. His attitude has been better than mine. He says “wherever I go…I will sow”. I don’t show it to him that is why this forum has been so great because we can post all these thoughts so when we talk to our kids we can at least appear to have it all under control! :)

I am with you on how well our kids handle it. I also don’t show it and appreciate the support here. You have all been great…maybe some of our kids will end up at the same place and be friends :)

I also appreciate the support. It’s been hard watching D go through this. I do think I take the bumps much harder than she does. But, then that’s part of the job of being the parent.

I think we all take the bumps much harder…wish I had my D 's resilience…but I guess that’s why our kids can make it in this profession, rejection is a huge part of it…that’s why I work in Human Resources! HA! LOL

So glad he is not being admitted or rejected based on my spelling!!! Lol

There are reports on the FB page of emails from Syracuse. Also an acceptance posted on the MT thread.

OMG!!! Accepted to Syracuse VPA!!!
