Yes, yes, yes!!! Awesome news!! Congratulations!!!

SO thrilled for you!!!

Thought I would share what my daughter found in one of her Backstage magazines. She was looking in the back for audition opportunities (wishful thinking on her part) and she found offers for actor and stage manager for the same show. The stage manager’s salary was $200 more a week than the actor. Just an interesting tidbit.

not suprising bissou, learned last night mine does not plan to audition for any shows his first semester. he is allowed to; he is just choosing not to. he is going to focus more on the film dept and let the film kids and i guess the proffs know he is available to be in any of their student films and focus on his major, which is close or may in fact be broadcast journalism. he has several reasons for going this route including not wanting to be too busy with any shows his first semester while he is still getting used to college. he assumes he would not be cast, which he is fine with working backstage but he is not sure he is up for time committent yet his first semester. thankfully, he is at least taking an acting class. never know what these kids are going to do.

well, our darlings are all leaving soon. Best to all of u and the young ones!! hope we can stay in touch. Take care, CTL

Yes! Good luck to all you drama moms, dads and thespians!! I’m not ready for this, but my daughter can’t wait!

We take our son to college in two weeks from tomorrow. The past year now seems to have flown by, though the month of March seemed to last forever!! :)

mine leaves in about 2 weeks too :/

We have a few weeks still, but it’s going way too fast! Wish we could stop the clocks for a bit. Thinking of all the CC parents and kids - so many exciting and joyful experiences ahead for our kids.

If they get involved in new student orientation or Greek life - they will probably leave even earlier next year. Mine has been at school since the end if July rehearsing for a show. She is also involved in Greek life and they help move in the freshman so she would have had to been back a week and a half early even without doing the show.

T minus 4 days until we leave for the big drop off… anybody else’s family in full stress meltdown? Round these parts, excitement, nerves and empty nest syndrome (D is an only) mean SOMEBODY is reaching for tissues every hour on the hour!!

We are T minus 9 with my only and we are in denial…no packing or anything…

We JUST hit the actual packing yesterday and today. While adding to the angst from “reality” setting in, it did help make it seem like things were getting accomplished…

I should say I am in denial…she is so thrilled and excited to be heading off to college…

@bisouu, deny for another few days and after that, get packin’!!! The excitement will be palpable once you and she start!

You guys will have to refresh my memory on where all of your kids are going! Mine is heading to Pace University…we are driving out from Minneapolis - leaving Aug 28 and move in is the 30th. @toowonderful, I’m definitely in full stress meltdown as well. I’m living in a kind of surreal daze, as it doesn’t seem possible it is all happening NOW!! Thinking of you all as we brave this thing until the end. :)

@kbsmom - driving from Minneapolis? Wow! ^:)^ D is in a suite of 4 girls, 2 west coast, one TX and herself (no other theater majors, journalism, photography, and international business) We are the only ones driving. Which gets us elected to bring the microwave and TV, adding to husband’s general state of Clampett madness…

Move in is today. Way too many tears on my end. Working on keeping the upper lip stiff today

@entertainersmom - good luck today. We are all standing with you

@entertainersmom, I was sad, too, in the days leading up to move-in, but when we arrived, my S was so happy that I could not be sad anymore. You’ll see. He’ll be where he’s supposed to be, doing what he loves, and no mom in the world could be sad about that.
