signing yourself out of school

I heard that if you are 18 you can sign yourself out of school and write your own notes but is that really true? I have my doubts.

At my school you can, but at the start of year you have to put your name down as a person who can sign a student out rather than their parents. I know of people who wrote down their boyfriend/girlfriend’s name and was able to sign out.

genius… definitely doing that next year. no school!!!

i had this conversation at lunch …i think it was last week

and yes, u can!! yaaaay

At my school, parents have to call/email in.

But it’s really easy to get out of school.

Seniors automatically get off-campus priviledges for lunch and study halls anyways. Some seniors get 6th and 7th period study halls, so they get to leave at lunch and not come back.

And if you’re feeling sick then you just go to the nurse and she will generally let you go home.

I totally thought the title of this thread said “selling yourself out of school.” I was like whoaaa

^ hahaha me too. I was like, CLICK!

My school claims that it won’t let you check yourself out of school, even if you’re over the age of 18 and your parents put you down as someone who can check you out. They require you to bring and note and then they have to call and confirm. I spend all my time at the community college anyway, but schools don’t care what the law is.

We used to be able to, but last year’s senior class abused the privileges. Now, our class must suffer, especially those of us who are 18.
