does anyone know if there are many people from nus/smu who make it to top us mbas eventually? would it be better to have local uni undergrad or a top 30 lac undergrad if i want to go that path?

Your first job out of college is much more important than which university you graduated from. Almost no one ever gets into top MBA programmes directly out of undergrad.

hey, does anyone know when’s the latest the teacher’s recs have to be in? my teacher encountered some hold-up and he hasn’t sent them yet, ***.

I doubt anyone can tell you what the latest acceptable date is, but you’d better chase your teacher to send it in ASAP… what could possibly hold him up for two weeks?

I don’t know, he says something went wrong with the common app. He tried to do online submission for my references but he is supposed to be an offline provider, I think that’s the problem. :/

Couldn’t you delete and add him again as an online provider, or is it too late for that?

Ask him to fax – that’s the fastest method.

^ Very good suggestion.

Yeah I just thought of that! Fast and no chance of lost mail.
I did re-add him, but he chose to be an offline provider so I can’t change his status.
I’m currently overseas now but I’m returning in a week or so… if he hasn’t sent them by then I’ll just ask him to fax them over.

Maybe I’m kiasu, but ask him to fax lah. Fax will get there instantly. D: I would be scared of US mail system :|

Or you can use Fedex or UPS prepaid envelopes or stamps.

I heard some colleges are receiving materials by telepathy nowadays. Apparently teleportation was just not instant enough for them

HAHAHA omg.

Yeah apparently the admin office does not allow overseas faxes, go figureee. If I FedEx by like end of Jan I don’t think there’s prob right?

Should be fine.

screwitlah is resident snarker

i am hono(u)red, fifi

quick question: is it advisable to leave questions blank when you’re unsure of the answer ?? i realised that my score dropped from 2080 to 1900 due to bad guesses. and is it normal for the passage-based questions to be difficult ? no problemo with the other sections, but the passage questions are omg gay.

Considering that you get 1/4 points deducted for every wrong answer, I think it makes sense probability-wise to guess the answer if you can narrow the options down to two (or maybe even three).
