If you have the potential of getting straight As then a 2200 score will be typical.

If you didn’t do well in O level and L1R4 is still below 25. Purdue is probably a possible option.

haha…scoring A’s isnt really that difficult if you put you heart into it…but whether you can get all A1’s is another story altogether…maybe all A2’s mean you are like in the 1900-2100 range? i dunno…

I meant straight As at A-levels =p

Hey guys! ok it goes without saying, no JC would accept me…

BUT i TOTALLY forgot about all the local international schools.

Tomorrow I will be applying to SJII , ACSI ,HCI … And im told that i stand a VERY good chance. I know people at these schools. Silly me… I should have thought of these schools earlier. And on top of that doing IB is a great idea when planning to go to the US.

wow…you sound really determined!! i think i would have given up long ago if i were thrown into such a predicament…but you do know that the school fees at these schools are close to a thousand bucks a months i trust?

yes im totally determined. I will not give up.

Yes it about $1,800 a month.

$22k a year…

^ Not trying to be a wet blanket or anything but remember to work hard for your post-O level.
Ultimately college is about higher education, and they’ll want someone who’s committed to and has a passion for studying.

HCI!! petrina, I hope you get in, haha.

i meant hwa chong international!!

haha we are one big family anyway

hey…can anyone tell me is there any major difference between H1 econs and H2 econs? i got posted to H1 econs and H2 phy, chem, maths…The seniors in the school told me that H1 econs is like 80% of the content of H2 econs and the depth is more or less similar…wondering if it true at all…

any opinions on IB VS A lvls?

FARMily :D

Hermann,
The difference between h1 and h2 is give or take some topics (e.g elasticity, etc). After talking to my friends in h1 econs (I’m in h2) after the A levels, we found out that we had almost same essay topic, the first half of the question is muggable, standard textbook answer, but only the h2s had the more difficult latter part which required some on-the-spot thinking.

However, do note that econs (for my jc at least) is an hard subject. My smartest and most hardworking friends that are in h1 econs can only laugh when for they got back their econs prelims essay marks. Let’s just say that the combined scores of all three of them would not even pass the 25/75 btw I’m from ajc so maybe that only applies to this school

Btw can anyone share with me your thoughts on life after going to a us uni? Coming back to sgp? Staying in the US and fight to get a working visa? If it really is that hard to work in the us, I may have to plan to transfer to a recognisable uni like UMich so that my degree is recognised in Sgp :(

H1 and H2 econs are basically the same thing, H1’s less tiring, your hand wouldn’t ache so much after tests, and you get to spend more time mugging instead of thinking. And H1 doesn’t have a couple of topics. That’s pretty much it.

Never knew why someone wanted to take H1 econs rather than H2, unless their credits weren’t enough.

geez none of the cc regs of ‘my time’ are around. now this place is filled with sec skul kidz. ewsss.

Well I am haha.

our time is over fiona. let the young’uns take over. let them.
